Anyone else unsure if they've got friends on socials anymore? 😂

Not sure about you, but my personal and professional social feeds are FULL of AI posters, ads and group posts! I never actually see any of my friends on socials these days.

Maybe Instagram... but Reels are hogging the feed! I'm the type of person who likes to silently scroll unless I'm on TikTok.

The algorithms are always changing, so hopefully they give me my friends back 😂 or pages that I actually follow and want to see content from!

You don't need to be on every platform! ⚠️
I will red-flag anyone who tells you otherwise 🚩

The most important thing as a sole trader and small business is to know where your audience is and be a prominent figure there! 💪

Large companies have the time, resources and most importantly, money to be EVERYWHERE!
It's very, very different for us, so choose wisely!

You need to be where your customers are AND within your capacity.
Every platform has a different size, optimisation, audience, algorithm.. and as a sole trader and small business, you don't have the resources for everything.

It's time to prioritise! 💪

But how do you figure it out?

1. Research to your heart's content.
2. Know and understand who your audience is and where they are.
3. Pick the platform that has the systems your business requires.
4. Make sure you learn the platform.
5. Look at the data: where are the majority of your customers already coming from?

It's my Birthdaaaaaaaaaaay 🥳 🎃 on Saturday!

So I'm taking some time to completely switch off! 🤩

You'll see my page active because scheduling tools are dreams come true 😏 So, as much as my presence is still there, I won't be responding to comments or messages or calling anyone back until Monday 9th November 😮😍

I will be loving life surrounded by pumpkins, prosecco, Disney characters, and then starting the winter festivities 🥹 I am very excited!

You'd be surprised how many businesses forget to actually tell people what to do next.

A CTA or Call To Action gives your audience a clear next step.

It could be:

👉 Send me a message
👉 Book your consultation
👉 Save this post for later
👉 Tell me in the comments
👉 Visit the link in my bio
👉 Share this with someone who needs it

And no, you don't need to put “BUY NOW!!!” at the end of every post 😂

Your CTA should match what you're actually asking people to do.

Want engagement? Ask a question.

Want enquiries? Tell them how to contact you.

Want people to save useful information? Tell them to save it.

People aren't mind readers; make the next step obvious.

A good post gets attention. A good CTA gives that attention somewhere to go.

I'm currently doing a lot of work with The Signing Company to break down barriers 💪

I'm learning BSL signs myself and have been for a few months now, little by little 😀

This afternoon, for the very first time, I got to put my BSL signs knowledge to the test in REAL LIFE! 🥹

I noticed she had a hearing aid, so I started signing certain words that I knew and changed my speed (so she could lip-read) without purposely acknowledging it out loud or asking if she was Deaf.

Her reaction was the most joyful, heartfelt experience I've ever had. She was so shocked and appreciative 🩷
I'm still a little rusty.. but she said the fact that I tried, did well in fairness 😂 and was thoughtful to adapt straight away without thinking about it - which it was! Pure instinct!

You genuinely have no idea who you'll meet in life, and there's such a big communication barrier for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people in our society, and I REALLY wish there wasn't!

I wish sign language was taught in schools; I wish I'd learnt sooner; I wish EVERYONE knew BSL Signs.

The Signing Company and Signingbsl teach adults and children, up and down the country BSL Signs AND have courses to introduce you to sign language.

I highly recommend signing up either as an individual with Signing BSL or with your family for children's classes with one of our franchisees at The Signing Company. Plenty to choose from!

You think you may not need to learn, but you never know who you'll meet 🩷

Today just solidified for me that to break down communication barriers, we all need to be on the same page 💪

I made someone feel seen, heard and valued today 🩷 Just imagine if we all did that; the world would be a much nicer, kinder place 🩷
