These spectacular legs left the workshop a couple months ago.

Water gilded in 23.5 carat Gold following extensive repair and preparation.

They adorn a beautiful Holland & Sons chair.

Holland & Sons were highly regarded cabinet makers and upholsterers operating in London from 1803 to 1942.

They held the prestigious Royal warrant to supply furniture to the many Royal residences 👑.

I wonder what tales these legs could tell!?

Lovely piece just finished and ready to be placed in its new home in the UK.

Damaged in transit from the other side of the world!

Losses have been repaired using traditional methods and materials.
Areas of damage received considerable stabilisation.
A few attempts at touching in with gold paint were removed and those areas repaired.

Both water gilding and oil gilding techniques used to reflect the origin finish.

As always, very mindful to retain original integrity and age of this mirror frame.

Fine 23.5 carat gold used.

One customer who purchased a golden vintage clam last year delighted in telling me how much it makes her smile every day.
