💃🏼 The Magdalene Group Night Time Strut 💃🏼
Tonight our director Charlotte and a few hundred more came together to walk through Norwich in support of ending violence against women and girls.
The rain poured before we set off, but stopped just in time for the walk to begin, leaving a rainbow stretching across the sky as if to guide us on our way.
We paused to remember the 118 women who have lost their lives at the hands of men in the last 12 months. Hearing each name spoken aloud was a powerful reminder of why events like this matter and why the work of organisations such as The Magdalene Group is so important.
In our work we often see first hand the impact that domestic abuse and family breakdown can have on individuals and families. Through our work with the family team at Norfolk Community Law Service, we provide free process serving and tracing services in domestic abuse and family court matters, helping people take the next step towards safety, protection and resolution when they need it most.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers and frontline workers, to Magdalene Group CEO Suzi Heybourne, Invidia Voices - The Rock & Soul Choir for singing us out and welcoming us back, and to Norwich City FC for the much appreciated water and sweets at the halfway point.
