A question for you.

If a recruiter asked for evidence of your skills today, what would you show them?

Your CV?

Your LinkedIn profile?

Your certificates?

Or a portfolio filled with examples of your work, thinking process, and problem-solving ability?

The world of work is changing.

Increasingly, employers want proof.

Not promises.

That is why I am passionate about helping professionals build evidence of capability through Portfolio Simulations.

Knowledge is important.

Evidence gets attention.

What are your thoughts?

I have a question for you.

If an employer asked you today to prove your cybersecurity capabilities, what would you show them?

A CV?

A certificate?

A LinkedIn profile?

Or actual evidence of your work?

Over the last few years, I have worked with professionals across multiple disciplines and one challenge keeps appearing.

People have knowledge but struggle to demonstrate it.

That is why we created the Cyber Threat Intelligence Portfolio Simulation Programme.

Participants complete practical simulation activities aligned with the UK Cyber Security Council Career Framework while building a portfolio they can confidently show employers, recruiters, and clients.

The first founding cohort is now open for 20 participants only.

Knowledge opens doors.

Evidence gets people through them.

One thing I discovered after coaching and mentoring thousands of professionals over the years is this:

Knowledge gets attention.

Evidence gets opportunities.

The marketplace rewards people who can demonstrate capability.

Not just talk about it.

That is why I have spent the last few years helping professionals build career portfolios through practical simulations and real-world scenarios.

You no longer need to wait for someone to give you experience before you can show what you are capable of.

Watch the video and tell me if you agree:

Are portfolios becoming more important than CVs?

For years, we've told young people:

"Study hard, get qualifications, and opportunities will follow."

But the world has changed.

Today, employers want more than certificates.
They want evidence that you can perform.

The good news?

You no longer need to wait for an employer to give you experience before you can start building experience.

AI-powered simulations now allow you to practise real-world scenarios, build work samples, receive expert feedback, and create a portfolio that showcases your abilities.

If I could give one piece of career advice to every undergraduate, graduate, job seeker, or parent, it would be this:

Focus on building proof, not just collecting qualifications.

If you'd like to learn more, send me a direct message.

Can I be honest?

I have experienced impostor syndrome at different stages of my career.

From Accounting and Finance...

To Technology Consulting...

To Software Engineering...

To Entrepreneurship...

That feeling of wondering whether you are really good enough never completely disappears.

But I have discovered something powerful.

The best way to silence self-doubt is not positive thinking.

It is evidence.

Evidence of problems solved.
Evidence of decisions made.
Evidence of projects delivered.
Evidence of capabilities demonstrated.

That is why I am passionate about portfolio simulations and practical learning experiences.

Because proof changes everything.

The best cure for impostor syndrome is not confidence. It's evidence.

Have you ever experienced impostor syndrome?

I qualified young and thought qualifications would carry me.

Reality taught me something different:

Your certificates may get attention…
But your portfolio builds trust.

CVs tell people who you say you are.

Evidence shows people what you can actually do.

In the AI era, proof is becoming a competitive advantage.

Question:

If someone asked for evidence of your skills today… what would you show?

25/05/2026

You can spend years studying cybersecurity and still struggle to get opportunities.

Not always because you lack knowledge…

Sometimes because you lack evidence.

That is one reason we are exploring Cyber Threat Intelligence Portfolio Simulations designed to help aspiring professionals practise realistic scenarios and build portfolio evidence.

The future may belong to people who can demonstrate capability, not only qualifications.

Would this have helped you earlier in your career?

Just got back from Singapore and I'm still reflecting on how I got here.

Honestly, last summer was hard. I was deep in a season of questioning and wondering if the work I was doing was enough, even when results said it was. I prayed a lot. I waited a lot.

One day a scripture about security on Instagram stopped me in my tracks. I didn't know it then, but that was the start of a shift.

Fast forward: a proposal we had once been rejected for came back. This time, with clarity and the right network, we won it. That opened doors I'm still walking through.

After Qatar and Rwanda, my team and I just successfully delivered another Advanced Capability Program in Singapore covering Strategic Communications, Psyops, Military Intelligence, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and AI in modern warfare.

At Join Momentum, we design these programs and collaborate with freelance consultants who bring backgrounds from the UK British Army, MoD, Dutch Military, and US Military; executing delivery based on what each client actually needs. Most of our clients are across Nigeria and Africa.

We're now open for both remote and in-person security capability programs across Nigeria and the wider African region. If you're a CISO, CTO, or CIO or you lead within a government department, agency, or security team; I would love to connect. I'll be available for calls and in-person meetings in Nigeria and across Africa in the coming weeks. Send me a DM and we'll set up a chat and a demo of our solutions.
To my project team, consultants, and partners — thank you for trusting the vision.
To anyone in a waiting season right now: keep going. The door will open.

Most hiring debates argue about whose fault the talent gap is.

This position paper argues something different: the gap isn't about talent at all. It's about believability and there's now, for the first time, a real way to close it.

Nine slides. One argument.

The credential no longer proves the candidate. Résumés overstate. Certificates prove attendance, not capability. Interviews approximate. And the cost of getting it wrong gets paid in mis-hires, unfilled vacancies, and a generation of qualified people stuck on the wrong side of the application form.

Inside this paper, I lay out:
→ why hiring is, underneath everything, an act of belief under uncertainty
→ what an AI career simulation actually is, and what separates a real one from a fancy quiz
→ the believability ladder — why some kinds of evidence carry conviction and others don't
→ the five questions every employer is silently asking before they say yes
→ where simulations themselves can lose credibility, and the guardrails that hold the line

This is a position paper, not a pitch. The argument stands or falls on its own merits and I have tried to make it stand fairly, with some honest pushback included.

Swipe through. Save it if it's useful.

Forward it to the person in your organisation who keeps saying "we can't find good people."

"Built, Not Found" - the series and book exploring all of this in depth continues on my LinkedIn newsletter.

My mum was the true epitome of love, kindness, and diligence. She raised us to believe in these three core values, and they remain the foundation of who I am today.

One of her favourite sayings was “atelewo eni ko ki n’tan eni je” — literally, “the palms of your hands will never deceive you.” But like most Yoruba proverbs, the weight of it sits beneath the surface.

Meaning: the work of your own hands is the only thing in life that will never betray you. People will disappoint you. Connections will fail you. Luck will run dry. Shortcuts will collapse. But the labour you put in with your own two hands, the skill you build, the sweat you invest, the honest work you do, that will always feed you.

It is a call to self-reliance, to integrity, to refusing the temptation of easy paths, and to trusting that diligence is its own reward. She was telling us that dignity is found in effort, and that no honest work is ever wasted.

If you don’t like my guts, then you simply did not meet my mum. She taught me to never back down in the face of adversity. She taught me that nothing is impossible for a man or woman who believe in themselves and trusts God. Every ounce of fire I carry into a room, every refusal to shrink, every time I have stood my ground when it would have been easier to fold, that is my mama still speaking through me.

As a father now, I see the priceless role my wife plays in the lives of our children and much of what she does many times are unnoticed, unthanked, and unmeasured, and yet it is the very thing holding our family together.

I have also witnessed and watched many women labour day in and day out, not just for their own survival, but for the survival of their children, their families, and their communities.

Women who carry mountains quietly. Women who give until there is nothing left, and then somehow find more to give.

So today, as I celebrate the legacy of my late mother, I am also celebrating every woman pouring herself out to make her home, and our society, a better place.

You are seen. You are honoured. You are loved.

Happy Mother’s Day ❤️
