Great meeting today in Shaftesbury!

Our Digital Doctor, Damian Lo Cascio took the spotlight for our member presentation slot. Damian talked about the lifecycle marketing model, which is an entire marketing strategy for your business. This led to a lively discussion afterwards about how important planning and strategy is for your business overall.

Great morning here in Shaftesbury for the second meeting of March.

Our lovely Louise at Honour Jewellery was our featured speaker this morning. Louise showed us some of her bespoke creations (which are stunning, btw) and went through the process from concept to creation. You can see some of those beautiful creations here https://honourjewellery.co.uk/

On Wednesday 4th March, we held a Visitors Day here at Lynx 2 Business, Shaftesbury.

We welcomed back Sarah Talbot, specialist food photographer at First Taste Photography.
We also welcomed Nathan Butler from Butler IT. and Grant & Nina from Lilywhite Mortgages for the first time. It was a pleasure to see you all.

The prestigious award for the best 60 seconds (aka The Kevin Bacon Award) was presented to our lovely Barry from Halls Heating and Plumbing who has recently reached a significant milestone in his business. Well Done, Barry!

Our member presentation was delivered by Simon Hurley from 'C**k & Bull Co. who brough in a sample of foods by popular brands and asked the team to rank them according to presentation, value for money, taste etc. Always something different from Simon!

What a lovely festive meeting we had today in Shaftesbury! Some of us remembered to wear our Christmas jumpers!

Mark Hansford from Vocallity stole the show for his sixty seconds in the form of a Christmas poem, so he was awarded the 'Kevin Bacon' award! Well done, Mark!

Our member presentation this week was by Karen Wolf from Organise My Books Accounting and Business Advisory Services
Karen started off by sharing with us that her early ambition was not to be a business and bookkeeping powerhouse, but actually the first female Fighter Jet pilot!

Karen's presentation continued with her sharing some top tips for managing your business.
- Running a business is like running a home, as they share many of the same skills!
- Have a clear vision for your business
- Cash flow is key
- Remember that you can't do everything yourself.
- Top tip: Save your tax!

What a wonderful way to kick off November!

Our member presentation was from Simon Hurley, long time business owner of P2P Food Solutions and Co-founder of 'C**k & Bull Co. Simon started with a reflection of the last 30 years in business, what he's learned and how he's helped other people to succeed in business. What a great meeting we had last week!

A lively session with lots of interesting conversations and three visitors.
We welcomed Andy Price IFA, Nicky from Theodora's Gifts in Shaftesbury and Andrew Plant Commercial Photographer. Thank you all for coming, great to meet you all.

The winner of the 'Kevin Bacon' Award for the best 60 seconds was presented to our award winning solicitor Richard James from First Twenty who in the last few weeks has secured himself a position on the Legal 500 list! Well done, Richard!

Louise brought in a selection of beautiful, shiny things for us to admire and took us through a selection of stories of bespoke pieces that she has created from old gold, broken jewellery and the processes that each item went through to create the final, bespoke and truly personal piece. We kicked off October with another lively meeting filled with meaningful conversation and connections. One of the discussions we had was how networking boosts your confidence with many people saying that just a few months ago, the thought of standing up and talking about themselves for a whole minute was terrifying, but now they think nothing of it! That is just awesome!!

Our illustrious prize for the best 60 seconds 'The Kevin Bacon' award went to Clare from Wildflower Nutrition, presented by Richard from First Twenty, who was our last winner.

Our member presentation was from Damian, our Digital Doctor. Damian told us all about generating leads to collect data through digital marketing and the importance of owning and managing that data in your business.

Such a great atmosphere for yesterday's Lynx 2 Business meeting (aka 'The Barry Show') 😆

Lots of interesting discussions around the table over breakfast followed by our member sixty seconds. Our winner this week and proud recipient of the 'Kevin Bacon' award was Richard from First Twenty, presented by last weeks winner Barry.

Barry from Halls Heating and Plumbing also had the spotlight for this weeks member presentation. Barry delighted us with an interactive demonstration which also included a short lesson in basic physics! He told us how to bleed radiators, how to use inhibitors and how to basically keep our boilers in optimum health.

We were joined by Cheryl from Toyota Business Centre in Yeovil. Cheryl is a member of our Yeovil group and popped over for a visit.

Although we were a little thin on the ground this morning due to everyone being on holiday, juggling kids and being super busy, we still had a fantastic meeting!

Our lovely new member Claire from Wildflower Nutrition smashed her first member presentation with a fascinating and educational talk on naturopathic nutrition.

Claire's passion and knowledge on the subject was outstanding, and she's on a mission to help people implement simple changes to improve their quality of life through better health and improved energy levels that will in turn reduce anxiety and balance their bodies.

It was also great to have Jasmine from Jasmine Milne Financial Planning back for a second visit

What a great morning we had yesterday for the first meeting in August.

We have an addition to the group in the form of a new award for the best sixty seconds - massive thanks to Mark Hansford for creating the 'Kevin Bacon Award'! Mark presented it to this week's winner Louise at Honour Jewellery

Our member presentation this week was from Richard from First Twenty. Richard, a double award winning commercial lawyer gave us some insight into what he offers which includes shareholder agreements, client contracts, employee contracts, investor disputes, and buying/selling of businesses, which can be anything from £1 - £81 million!!

We were joined by Lewis from Bombouche Custom Apparel for the first time and welcomed back Bernie from About Redpoint Life Coaching for her second visit, who will soon be joining us as a new member! Great to see you both!
