Really pleased to be supporting LOOPFEST again this year. It's an amazing three days of music, spoken word and other fun activities. We have supplied drink spiking test strips and incident reporting technology, which will be located on the bars at five of the event's venues in Shrewsbury: the castle, English Bridge Workshop, St Mary's Church, Shropshire Colleges Group Welsh Bridge Campus stage and the Morris Hall. Today is .

It is a campaign to prevent violence against women and girls by encouraging active allyship from men and boys.

Labour is setting out one of the key pledges to our Safer Streets mission; to halve male violence against women and girls (VAWG) which accounts for 20% of all police-recorded crime.

This week the Prime Minster is in discussions with the hospitality sector so that we can reduce incidents of spiking and create a safer environment on the return home from a night out.

I have met West Mercia Women's Aid to discuss their work supporting Domestic Abuse victims and 1st&Bowery an anti-spiking group that helps track incidents of drink spiking.

Our good friend Colin at Spike Aware UK has done amazing work to spread the word about drink spiking since he lost his son Greg to the scourge. We're thinking of him and family today.

Today 7 years ago Greg lost his life to a Spiked drink. There was NO ONE there to support us, believe me, we looked, that’s why we founded Spike Aware UK. Those 7 years have been tough but we have come a long way. From supporting victims to pushing for changes in the law, we’ve been there. The last couple of days, with the Government announcement yesterday, have been hard. We’d like to thank all that have supported us, thanks to all those victims, that have bravely told their stories to the public and thanks to all that have joined and followed the page. The proof is now out there, Together we can and will make a difference.

Do you think you may have been spiked? We always recommend in the first instance that you contact the police if you think this may have happened to you. However, there is also the option of reporting it to us for the purpose of us being able to understand if there is a pattern of this happening in your area.
