Ever struggled to fit a widestep ladder into a van or store it between jobs?

The MagnaStep Widestep is now available with folding handrail capability, helping make transport and storage easier when space is at a premium.

You still get the large working platform and wide treads that make widestep ladders popular. The difference is the handrails can now fold down when needed.

Thinking about working on a pitched roof?

One question we hear regularly is:

"Can I use a roof ladder conversion kit, or do I need a dedicated roof ladder?"

The answer depends on the job, how often you'll be accessing roofs, and the level of risk involved.

We've put together a practical guide explaining:

✔ The difference between roof ladders and conversion kits
✔ The pros and cons of each option
✔ Roof access safety considerations
✔ What tradespeople should think about before working at height

If roofing, inspections, maintenance or solar installation are part of your work, it's worth a read.

What makes a product more sustainable?

Is it what it's made from, where it's made, or how long it lasts?

For us, it's a combination of all three.

That's why we're focused on:
✔ Manufacturing in Britain
✔ Generating renewable energy through our solar panels
✔ Using recycled aluminium for our rungs and treads
✔ Designing products that can be repaired rather than replaced

On World Environment Day, we're sharing a look at some of the steps we're taking to help reduce our environmental impact.

Watch the video and let us know which sustainability initiative you think makes the biggest difference.

Did you know Lyte ladders played a small part in one of the greatest achievements in history?

On 29 May 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first people confirmed to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

Before they could reach the top, the expedition had to cross the dangerous crevasses of the Khumbu Icefall. To do that, they used lightweight aluminium Lyte ladders as bridges across the ice.

The story was featured in The Times Everest Colour Supplement in 1953, and Lyte later celebrated the achievement with its own newspaper advert.

Decades later, we're still manufacturing access equipment in South Wales.

Swipe through to see the incredible story behind one of the most famous climbs ever completed.
