Great to see this project featured in a recent case study by VEKA UK 👏
This was one of our commercial contracts at Travelodge Washington A1(M) Northbound, delivering a full window replacement using the Halo System 10 Casement, fabricated by John Fredericks Plastics.
The project included approximately 36 replacement frames and 73 sealed units, all finished in white to maintain a consistent appearance across the building.
As with all Travelodge refurbishments, works were carefully phased within a live hotel environment to minimise disruption to guests while keeping the programme on track.

Canted or Bow Bay?

A bay window isn’t just about adding space or light.

The shape you choose changes how the room feels and how the property sits from the outside.

A bow bay is formed from multiple sections to create a soft, curved projection.

It opens up the view and gives a more flowing, panoramic feel from inside.

A canted bay is built with angled sides and a flat front.

It creates a stronger, more defined shape externally, with clearer lines internally.
Neither is better.

It depends on the look you’re drawn to and the character of the property.

Diamond or Square Lead?
Leaded glass can completely change the personality of a window.

A diamond lead pattern introduces decorative geometry rooted in period design. It adds movement and traditional character, often complementing cottages and heritage-style properties.

A square lead pattern creates balanced architectural lines. It feels more structured and suits homes where cleaner proportions are preferred.

In the installations shown, the lead was applied to the exterior of the outer pane of glass. This maintains a smooth internal surface while achieving the desired aesthetic externally.

🔷 Case Study Spotlight | Commercial refurbishment project at Travelodge Washington A1(M) Northbound, delivered using VEKA Halo System 10 Casement Windows.

Fabricated by John Fredericks Plastics and installed by Silent View Windows, the solution demonstrates how systems can support the practical demands of commercial refurbishment projects, where durability, consistency and reliable performance are key. Working within a live hotel environment, the project required careful planning and phased installation to minimise disruption to guests and day‑to‑day operations. 36 replacement window frames and 73 sealed units were installed, with the hotel remaining fully operational throughout the programme.
