Among the beautiful pieces awaiting discovery in our forthcoming auction is this elegant Edwardian 15ct gold Art Nouveau brooch, set with peridot, amethyst and delicate seed pearls.

Of particular Suffragette interest, its striking combination of green, purple and white reflects the colours adopted by the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) in their campaign for women's right to vote.

A wonderful example of Edwardian craftsmanship, with a fascinating connection to the fashions and symbolism of the Suffragette era.

A remarkable survivor from the earliest years of stereoscopic photography.

Dating to 1858, this rare Powell Stereoscopic Binocular Camera was manufactured by celebrated London makers Horne & Thornthwaite of Newgate Street.

Its ingenious design incorporates the wooden camera into its own carrying case, which unfolds to form an extended alignment tray before folding neatly away again for travel.

More than 165 years later, it remains a fascinating example of innovation from the pioneering days of Victorian photography. Only one other example of the Binocular model is believed to have appeared at auction, back in the 1970s.

A remarkable consignment of family history coming to auction.

We are offering a substantial collection of silverware in our next sale to include this stunning serving tray. It bears the armorial crest of the Freshwater family, a historically significant Essex landowning family whose lineage is associated with Heybridge Hall, with roots reaching back to the 13th century.

This impressive piece is hallmarked for Sheffield, 1928, by Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd, and engraved with the family armorial crest featuring crossed fish beneath a crown, together with the motto Natat Neque Mergitur — “It neither swims nor sinks.”

Objects such as these are more than fine silver; they are tangible links to family history, place, and heritage. For descendants of the Freshwater family, local historians, or collectors of armorial silver, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece connected to an enduring Essex lineage.
