💥Feeding Bulls - Top at £2400 for Lodge Farm
💥Store Cattle - Bullocks top at £2340 for Knowe Hill
💥Store Cattle - Heifers top at 2480 for Low House
🥇Champion - Sells to £2320 for Fellside House Farm

Beef Cows with Calves at Foot - Starting the sale was the major reduction of Breeding Cows and Calves at foot, on behalf of Norman and Colin Hughes, Oakshaw, who consigned 13 Continental Cross and South Devon Cows, mostly with Charolais Calves at foot. This farming topped out at £3600 for a lovely Limousin X 3rd Calver with a Charolais X Steer calf at foot.

Store Cattle - Thursday 7th May saw the special May Show and Sale of Feeding Bulls and Store Cattle take place with a tremendous entry of 610 Cattle go under the hammer.
The pre-sale show was in the very capable hands of Joe Little, Greenhill Farm, Wigton, who is well known for his eye for quality livestock. Another massive thank you must be to our Show Sponsors, Aspatria Farmers, without their generosity these shows and sales would not be possible.

Top gross of the day went to Messrs J Dixon & Sons, Lesson Hall reaching £2835.00 (375p) for a British Blue weighing 756kg purchased by R J Harrison & Sons, 24 King Street, Wigton.

Top ppk went to J J Crichton, Loughrigg for a Charolais Heifer reaching 430p (£2700.40) weighing 628kg purchased by R J
Harrison & Sons, 24 King Street, Wigton.

PRIME HOGGS – 846
A show of well meated Hoggs found a competitive ringside of buyers to produce a sharper trade, to a top of £250 for Texel Hoggs from Round Hill Farm Ltd. Best Hoggs to 518.2pkg for 44kg Beltex from A & B Fisher, Lairdlaugh.
All classes good to sell with fleshed Hoggs selling to average £198.72 or 415.74pkg.

SPRING LAMBS - 56
A greater show and all good to sell with demand from 36kg – 60kg. Handy weight Lambs 500pkg plus, to a top of 570.5pkg (£251) for a pair of Texels, weighing 44kg for TB Stamper & Sons Farms, Harrot Hill Farm, purchased by Richard J Harrison for the King Street Butchers Shop, Wigton and this same home also producing the day tops result of £261 (543.8pkg) for a 48kg Texel, purchased by Tony Harrison's Butchers for the Main Street Butchers Shop, Cockermouth

A good display of Ewes and another firm enquiry from an increased ringside of buyers to a top of £295 for a Beltex from JT & EM Marrs & Son, Broomhills Farm. Cast Tups to £290 twice for J Sharp, Robin Hill with Dutch Spotted.
