One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to improve their health and fitness is using the scale as their only measure of progress.

While scale weight can be useful, it doesn’t just reflect body fat. It can fluctuate due to hydration levels, carbohydrate intake, sodium intake, hormones, digestion and even how hard you’ve trained recently.

That’s why it’s important to look at the bigger picture.

Are you getting stronger in the gym? Are you able to do more reps or lift heavier weights? Is your fitness improving? Are your clothes fitting differently? Have your measurements changed? Can you see a difference in your progress photos? Do you have more energy and confidence than you did a few months ago?

These are all valuable signs that your hard work is paying off, even if the scale isn’t moving as quickly as you’d like.

Remember, progress isn’t just about weighing less. It’s about becoming stronger, healthier, fitter and building habits that you can maintain long-term.

Today marks the halfway point of the year.

Whether you’ve been consistent since January or your goals have slipped to the bottom of the priority list, this is a good opportunity to check in with yourself.

Have you made progress towards the things you said you wanted this year? Are your daily habits moving you closer to where you want to be, or further away from it?

The good news is that you don’t need to wait for another Monday, another month, or another New Year to make a change.

Six months is enough time to build stronger habits, improve your fitness, feel healthier, gain confidence and achieve more than you think. But it starts with the choices you make today.

Creatine is one of the most researched supplements available, yet it’s still surrounded by so many misconceptions👀

The reality? Creatine is safe, effective, and beneficial for both men and women when taken appropriately.

Creatine is naturally stored within the muscles and helps support the body’s ability to produce energy during high-intensity exercise. This can help improve strength, training performance, recovery and overall exercise capacity over time.

Research also suggests creatine can support muscle function, cognitive function and overall long-term health, making it particularly beneficial for women as they age and during menopause, where muscle mass and bone density naturally decline.

One of the biggest concerns around creatine is bloating. Some people may notice slight water retention initially, however this is typically due to increased water within the muscle cells rather than fat gain, and is often temporary.

The basics:
• 3-5g daily
• Creatine monohydrate is best
• Powder or tablet form are both effective
• Consistency matters more than timing
• A loading phase is not essential

Supplements should support the foundations - not replace them - but creatine can be a genuinely valuable addition alongside good training, nutrition and recovery💪🏼

Motivation is great when it’s there, but the reality is it comes and goes. You’re not going to wake up every day feeling excited to train, eat well or stick to your routine.

The people who make real progress aren’t relying on motivation all the time. They build habits, routines and discipline that help them keep going even on the days they feel tired, stressed, busy or unmotivated.

Some sessions will feel amazing, others won’t. Some weeks will flow easily, others will take more effort. What matters most is continuing to show up consistently, even if it doesn’t look perfect.

That’s what creates long term results in health and fitness. 🤍

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who donated to my fundraiser and sent me such lovely messages throughout my marathon training❤️

Alzheimer’s Society is such an incredible charity and one that I hold very close to my heart. The money raised will go towards supporting those living with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones, as well as providing vital research into new treatments and care. I feel so grateful to have been able to do this for such a meaningful cause, and even more so in memory of my Nanna, Valerie.

Together, we raised an incredible £1,600. I truly can’t thank you all enough❤️
