Something is happening in Guernsey this autumn.

The Guernsey AI Sprint 2026 is a FREE, six‑week island‑wide programme running from 1 October to 12 November - and it’s open to everyone. From business leaders and frontline employees to SME owners and charities, this is for the whole island.

No tech background is needed, and there are no spectators, just people ready to get involved.

Across the six weeks, you’ll have the chance to take part in hands-on workshops, explore live AI tools you can start using straight away, hear from local and national experts, join cross-sector hackathons tackling real Guernsey challenges, and connect through a series of events - all leading up to a closing Gala Dinner.

AI has never been more accessible. The tools are here, and so is the opportunity.

We’re about to announce something really exciting with a major focus on AI and helping SMEs and start-ups embrace the opportunities ahead. And this year’s Chamber Gala Dinner is going to be the grand finale of that programme!

We’re looking for a Community Tech Partner to join us - a business that wants to champion innovation, support access for smaller businesses, and be right at the centre of the conversation around AI and the future economy.

If that sounds like something your organisation would like to be part of, please get in touch - we’d love to talk.

Guernsey businesses spoke. Government listened.
Following sustained engagement by the Chamber on behalf of our members, Government is revising its Social Security proposals that are part of the GST+ package. The key outcomes we expect to see in revised proposals are:
- Gradual phasing of increases
- Employed and self-employed treatment aligned with an income tax deduction introduced for employer contribution
- Social Security applied on earned income only
- Adjustments to the Social Security allowance and the 20% income tax threshold to balance the overall package.

This is the direct result of member feedback and constructive partnership with government. Full press release in the link below. 👇

Tax is high on the agenda this week. We’ve got 8 hours of meetings in the diary focused on tax reform, alongside ongoing discussions, and emails with members, stakeholders and government. Yesterday saw the publication of the corporate tax report, today we’re attending a GST session, and on Thursday we’ll be hosting a social security briefing for our members.

We’re staying closely engaged on all of these developments and will share a clear summary of the key updates and what they mean for members at the end of the week.

Guernsey businesses: Your payroll costs are about to increase.

The Government's Social Security reform is in reality for employers an increase in contributions - with no allowances, no offsets, and changes accelerating faster than previously agreed.

We've published a full member briefing so you can understand what's actually changing, who pays, and by how much.

Read the briefing: guernseychamber.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Chamber-Briefing-Proposed-Social-Security-Reform-1.pdf

Then join us Thursday 21st May at 8am at Camilla's Café where we'll walk through the detail, answer your questions, and make sure your concerns are heard by Government.
