I made a demo dashboard you can have a play with. It's got enquiries, bookings and a job list on it. None of it's real, but you can click every bit of it.

I put my goals on my dashboard so I can see them every day, but the bit that actually helps is what sits beside them.

My calendar is on the same screen, and each monthly goal is broken down into little tasks that go into actual days. Call a past client on Monday, send a quote on Tuesday, that kind of thing. So every day I'm doing one thing that moves the goal along.

Hey, a bit of life lately from behind the scenes.

The senior schnauzer is still giving me heart attacks every time she naps a bit too still. The garden is missing me, so my daughter and dad have taken it on for the school garden competition. I've started painting classes because apparently I needed another project, and that "You don't get remembered for boring" board is my favourite so far (taking commissions!). And our pup had his first pet day. Did every trick, didn't win a thing. Rigged, I reckon.

Part one of building my dashboard. I'm doing it one panel at a time and started with the easy one, my week.

Claude Code pulled in my Google Calendar so the whole week sits across the top. That's it so far, but I'm not opening my calendar app anymore.

If you're setting up a dashboard, these are the four things I'd put on it first: quotes waiting on a reply, your follow-ups, your goals for the month, and everything that's waiting on you.

Had to share this one. I built myself a dashboard for my whole life and business.

It's got my week from Google Calendar, my to-dos for clients and for me, my habits, my goals for the month and new sign-ups. It even knows when I skip the gym.

I'm not a developer, I just told Claude what I wanted on it.

We started with something she was sick of doing every week.

Clearing photos and videos from her phone so she had room to film exercises for clients and create her content.

After setting up Claude, we tackled that task, then two more. A few practical places to free up time and some mental space.

Look, I'd make a terrible actress. I can never remember what I'm supposed to say on camera.

That's why I film on Edits. The teleprompter lets me write my notes, or get AI to help, and just read them. Nice filter, easy to edit, and I can do three versions of the same reel. It saves your inspiration and trending audio too.

Anyone else need the teleprompter?

Hey, quick one for anyone who nods along when people start saying MCP and API.

Think of AI like a brand new hire. Brilliant, but they know nothing about your business on day one.

A project is their desk. A skill is their SOP. An API is the waiter running between your apps. An MCP is the key card that lets AI into your inbox, Xero and calendar. A plugin is the starter kit. And a custom GPT is ChatGPT's version, a trained-up temp who does one job really well.

Honestly, none of this is really tech. It's onboarding, and we all know how to onboard new staff.
