🌿 Blast from the past: Hansa, 1980s edition.

Before purpose-built demo trailers, polished displays and generous travel budgets, there was founder Manfred, a classic Mini and a roof rack loaded with enough branches to make the local council nervous.

This was Hansa in the early days: big ideas, a shoestring budget and absolutely no wasted space. If the demonstration material didn’t fit in the car, it went on the car… and occasionally became most of the car.

Proof that you don’t need fancy equipment to get a business moving - just determination, ingenuity and some very optimistic tie-downs.

From learning alongside Dad to leading Hansa today.

This photo from 1993 captures Hansa founder Manfred working alongside his son Martin during the development of the Model C6 - the machine that evolved into today’s Hansa staple, the Model C7.

More than three decades later, Martin is Hansa’s owner and Managing Director, carrying forward the knowledge, values and passion his father passed on.

It’s a special reminder that some of life’s most important lessons are learned by working side by side.

Here’s to the dads, grandads, mentors and father figures who teach us, encourage us and inspire the next generation.

Three new chippers. Ten in the fleet. Sixteen over ten years.

And don’t the new machines look sharp in custom black?

A new Hansa C13RT, C25 and C65 are heading to Tool Hire Taranaki, growing their current Hansa fleet to ten machines. The C65 is also a significant addition - their first 10-inch chipper with hydraulic lift/crush.

Over the past decade, Tool Hire Taranaki has purchased a total of 16 Hansa chippers. That kind of repeat investment is loyalty at its best - and something we never take for granted.

It was a pleasure delivering the new machines to the Tool Hire Taranaki Limited yard in New Plymouth and handing them over to owner Daniel Lock.

Thanks to Daniel, Charlotte and the team for continuing to put their trust in Hansa.

One of just three C30 PTOs we made — onsite today for a service.

This setup features a 6” hydraulic feed, PTO driven and built to get the job done. Great to see one of these machines still out there putting in the work.

Two weeks on the road with the new L13 log splitter 🚛💨

Brad’s recent trip around the South Island covered an impressive 3,571km, catching up with our dealers and hire companies and putting the L13 through its paces.

The trip was a great chance to connect with the people representing and supporting our gear across the South Island.

3,571km. Two weeks. Plenty of stops. Here are a few highlights from a week in the life of being on the road with the L13.

A bit of blue among the HANSA green! 🔵🌳

Awesome to deliver this custom-coloured HANSA C27 to Joel from The Doctor Tree Surgery in Auckland.

Joel’s been a long-time HANSA customer, so it’s great to see another HANSA machine joining the team — this time custom finished looking sharp in blue and orange.

Thanks again for the continued support, Joel. We reckon the new C27 looks right at home! 👌

A pretty spectacular delivery run across the Cook Strait! 🌊⛰️

We recently made the trip south to deliver a HANSA C65 Chipper to the team at inglispackersltd in Motueka.

With views like these along the way, it’s hard to complain about the commute.

Another step forward for our export growth 🌏🇬🇧

The UK is an important export market for us, and as our business there continues to grow, so does the infrastructure supporting it.

Our recently relocated UK warehouse gives us a better organised and better located base to serve the market — helping us hold stock closer to customers, operate more efficiently and support further growth across the UK.
