Can you help?
We have a great fundraising opportunity in our community and need people to be a part of the team. Companions, campers’ family members, past volunteers – anyone in our CQ community who wants to support us.
We need 25 volunteers to help out at the Zuru Nightglow (Balloons Over Waikato). Older teenagers can help too with accompanying adults. Volunteers must be comfortable dealing with the public.

Saturday 22nd March
3pm – 9.30pm
Claudelands Oval, Claudelands Event Centre, Hamilton

Looking for casual work?

We are looking for a yard hand to help us out through the silly season, and beyond.
It is about to go crazy on our Bobs Gas Kopu yard and we need some help to keep up.

You will be trained and certified to handle and fill LPG cylinders and serve our awesome customer base.

Our normal operating hours are Monday - Friday 0800-1700 and Saturday 0900-1300. Stop in and talk to Aaron to see what hours and days he needs, and what you might be able to offer.

This is a physical role, you will be on your feet all day.

Key attributes;
* Happy customer centric personality
* Safety focused
* Drug free (we do have random testing)
* Physically fit and able to lift up to 30kg
* Having a class 2 license would be brilliant as well.

This position is available for an immediate start.

We have to hustle at Xmas to keep the 9kg swap sites and holiday parks topped up for summer BBQs and camping. We just couldn't do it without you, you're legends!

So when you see a Bob's Gas vehicle out and about over the holidays, give the driver a wave!

"Can you fill this for me please?"
Unfortunately... no.
Although this bottle is technically "in test", we still can not and will not fill it. For your own safety.
Once the rust has started actually penetrating the steel (pitting) the steel is no longer structurally sound. This means that gas under pressure has the potential to actually push through the weakened steel and the bottle to start leaking.

As a Bobs Gas delivery driver, based out of our Kopu yard, this position is the face of the business to our customers, so our ideal applicant will need to enjoy interacting with people, be personable and presentable.
If you have a clean class 2 license, then send an application NOW.
Ideally you will have a DG endorsement or be able to get one. We will train you for LPG filling and handling and provide full PPE.

Have you ever seen our deluge system go off?

This was just a quick test, when running it can keep pumping out water for a long as is needed.

Surprisingly, this system is not to put out a fire.

That tank holds 12 tons of liquid petroleum gas, (over 5k litres), and if the oxygen was mixed with the gas and a spark added, a little water would do nothing to stop the fire.

No, the deluge system is simply there to cool the tank down in case there is a fire AROUND it.

When L.P.G is heated, it expands and creates pressure.

This is why you get better pressure out of a gas bottle in summer than in winter.
