It’s been a big year on the farm and, with the vines charging ahead, we’ll be straight back into it come 2026.

To everyone who has worked and works here, who has visited us, who has recommended us to friends or family, who has chosen a Rippon wine for their wine list or ordered it for their shelves, who has ordered a Rippon wine at a restaurant or bar, who has placed a bottle of Rippon in their fridge or cellar or who has followed what we’re up to online: thank you.

We couldn’t do what we do without you and we massively appreciate your support this year. Here’s to great things in 2026!

Springtime here at Rippon feels a little different. As the new shoots break away and the vines roar back into action. While it looks pretty magnificent right now after last week's storm cycle of howling wind and blistery snow, there’s been a lot of nail biting as frost threats become very real.

A massive thank you to our Vineyard Manager and Assistant Vineyard Manager, Shannon and Matt, who worked late into yesterday mowing the rows and putting out a preemptive valerian spray (to help the vines during and after a cold night) before Shannon patrolled the vineyard throughout the night.

Thankfully temperatures stayed in the positive and things look set to warm up over the coming days but, with the mountains stacked with snow, we’ve got a way to go before we can breathe easy!

We’re stoked that “Tinker’s Field” has been named by Wine Searcher as their top New Zealand wine of 2025. What makes this one a bit different is that this has come from an aggregate of reviews over various vintages, basically meaning that a lot of people have been enjoying “Tinker’s Field” across many years. Tinker’s Field is home to the first vines planted by Rolfe (known as Tink to his friends) and we love knowing that around the world people are enjoying the fruits of his (and our) labours as much as we are!
