At 65 years old, this patient came in with knee pain at a 9/10, limping and thinking surgery was the next step.

Fast forward just a few weeks…
➡️ Back to biking 20 miles
➡️ No longer thinking about knee pain daily
➡️ Squatting again without fear

This is your reminder that pain is NOT just “part of getting older.”
And surgery isn’t always the first (or only) option.

With the right plan, guidance, and consistency, your body is capable of so much more than you think.

If you’ve been dealing with pain and telling yourself “this is just how it is now”… maybe it’s time to try something different.

After watching my wife go through pregnancy and postpartum, I know firsthand how much women deserve real, specialized care for what their bodies go through.

Because here’s what I hear too often. Pelvic pain? “That’s just part of being a woman.” Leaking during a workout? “It happens.” Painful intimacy? “We didn’t find anything on your imaging.” You bring it up to your doctor and get a shrug, a pamphlet, or nothing at all. So eventually you stop bringing it up. You modify your workouts, you plan your routes around bathrooms, and somewhere along the way you just accept that this is how it is now.

It’s not.

Also, you don’t have to have been pregnant for these symptoms to be real and worth treating. If you are a woman and have been quietly managing symptoms…know that they have a root cause and they are treatable.

In July, Spark Physical Therapy will be offering pelvic floor physical therapy for women, with a specialist who has dedicated her career to exactly this. Every session will be personalized and actually built around solving the problem, not just managing symptoms.

We already have the privilege of working with so many incredible women in our community, and we cannot wait to be able to support them in an even bigger way.

Runners, if your ankles feel tight, weak, or achy after runs, this is your sign to stop ignoring them!!! 🚨

Most runner ankle pain isn’t random… it’s usually a mix of poor load tolerance, limited mobility, and lack of stability/control under impact.

If your mileage is increasing but your ankles feel worse, stretching alone won’t cut it, you need to train how your ankle absorbs and produces force.

Add these 3 exercises into your training and here’s why:

• Banded Dorsiflexion stretch: improves ankle mobility so you can actually get into proper shin angle during running and reduce compensations up the chain.

• Single Leg RDL Reaches: builds balance and single-leg stability while teaching your ankle to stay controlled under load (just like it has to every step you run).

• Slow Eccentric Calf Raises: trains your calf/Achilles to absorb impact and control deceleration, which is exactly what happens with every foot strike.

Run stronger by training your ankles to handle force not just move through range. 🏃🏻💪🏼

Save this for your next strength day.

🏃 Happy Global Running Day! 🌍

To every runner out there chasing PRs, returning from injury, or just lacing up for the first time…today is YOUR day.

For a many of us, running isn’t just a workout. It’s how we clear our head, challenge our limits, and prove to ourselves what we are capable of.

We love helping runners stay on the road (or trail) by finding the root cause of what’s slowing them down and creating a plan to overcome it (not just telling them to rest and hope for the best).

Run strong. Run smart. Run long. 💪

"Just rest it." "Take ibuprofen." "Stop running for 6 weeks."

If that sounds familiar, you've been let down by a system that wasn't built for active people.

Here's what they don't tell you: not all pain means stop. Sometimes it means load smarter. Your tissue needs progressive stress to heal. Your body needs to learn it's not broken. And you need a plan that keeps you moving (not one that sidelines you for months and calls it treatment).

That's the difference between generic advice and a real, personalized solution.

Filming this while walking through the grass behind the building like I just had some deep realization 😂

But honestly, I did. This is the stuff that fires me up (and our team)! Seeing someone go from barely being able to run to back out there doing the thing they actually love again. That’s why we do what we do.

If you’re a runner dealing with hip pain, knee pain, or anything that keeps interrupting your training…you don’t have to just “manage it” forever. There’s a better way to figure it out and get back to running strong.

If that’s you, hit the link in our bio and book a quick call with us. We’ll help you get clear on what’s going on and what your next step should be. Let’s get you back out there and keep you going strong🏃‍♂️

If you’re a pelvic floor PT and you’ve ever thought…

“There has to be a better way to care for these patients…”

At Spark, we want to provide the best care possible for women who are pregnant, postpartum, or dealing with pelvic floor issues.

And to do that well… it can’t be one-size-fits-all. Every patient is different. Their goals are different. Their lives are different. They deserve care that actually reflects that. That’s why we’re looking to bring on a pelvic floor physical therapist.

Someone who:
-Values individualized, patient-centered care
-Takes time to really listen and understand each person
-Wants the freedom to tailor treatment instead of following a template
-Cares about helping people feel confident in their body again

You’ll have the space to think, adjust, and truly personalize your approach for each patient.
If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, send me a message.

Mid season shoulder pain?

This athlete is dealing with that right now. Baseball athlete, a lot of throwing, shoulder gets irritated. Not a big injury (we caught it early, thankfully), just enough to mess with performance and hang around.

He’s already doing rehab with his team, which is good. But he wants it to calm down faster so he can keep playing at a high level.

That’s where we’re helping him out with StemWave. Working on reducing irritation and getting the shoulder to settle down mid-season.

If you’re in season right now and your shoulder or elbow is constantly bugging you, you don’t have to just push through it and hope it goes away later. You can actually get ahead of it and stay in the game.

Shoot us a message if you need help 💪
