I have 20+ years of experience as a leader in the corporate world, helping brands and clients get clear on their goals and purpose, finding their voice, developing the plan and strategy to create one-of-kind experiences, and connecting with their audience. My journey has brought into my life so many special people with amazing gifts, talents, and potential. Special stuff that just needs the right environment, support, and guidance to help to ignite that fire inside and give it space to burn brightly. Over the past 5 years of being a coach I have created a system that not only gives people the ability to move forward and connect with the most important things in their life (their purpose, family, friends, career, love, themselves) but to create a life bigger and greater than they ever imagined. My specialties include goal planning and habit design, emotional agility, environmental design, mindset training, and helping people achieve Flow (the ultimate state where you feel your best and do your best). Through coaching with me and Erin in this one-of-kind program you will get trained on this powerful system that has helped countless people go on to do amazing things in their lives, feel better than they ever felt, and most importantly connect with the part of themselves that can make it all happen. You are an extraordinary person, and an extraordinary life is right in front of you, and we are here to help you create it and live it every single day.

One of the hardest things as a parent is watching your teen or young adult feel lost about their future.

You can see their potential.

But they seem stuck. Unmotivated. Unsure of what they’re good at or where they’re going.

So we try to help:

What do you want to major in?
What kind of career do you want?
What’s your plan?

But sometimes we’re asking for an answer they’re not ready to give.

Because before our kids can figure out what they want to do, they need space to discover who they are.

What matters to me?
What am I good at?
What am I curious about?
Who do I want to become?

We believe this deeply, as coaches and as parents:

Identity comes before direction.

So try asking something different this week:

“What are you curious about right now?”

And then just listen.

Don’t turn their answer into a major, a career, or a plan. Help them follow the thread.

Because purpose usually isn’t something our kids suddenly find.

It’s something they uncover by knowing themselves, trying things, and taking small steps forward.

They don’t need their entire future figured out.

They need the confidence to start exploring it.

If your teen or young adult seems unmotivated, lost, or unsure of what they want, you may be focusing on the wrong person.

As parents, we spend so much energy worrying about their grades, phones, friends, college, motivation, and future.

But one of the most powerful ways to help our kids grow?

Let them see us growing, too.

In our newest episode of the Extraordinary Purpose Podcast, Erin and I get personal about something we see in our own family and in our coaching with teens, young adults, college students, and parents:

Our kids are watching how we handle challenges, pursue our goals, take care of ourselves, and keep becoming who we want to be.

Sometimes the best way to help them become more confident, motivated, resilient, and purposeful isn't another conversation about what they need to do.

It's showing them what growth looks like.

And this week, ask yourself:

What's one part of your life you've been putting on the back burner?

Take one small step toward it. Your kids may be paying more attention than you think.

As parents, we spend so much time thinking about our kids. Are they motivated? Are they making good choices? Will they find their people, their purpose, and a path that feels right for them? But what if one of the most powerful ways to help your teen or young adult move forward is to start...

There’s a really hard place to be as a parent.

It’s when you can see so much in your son or daughter that they just can’t see in themselves yet.

We know that feeling personally.

You see their intelligence, their strengths, their personality, their potential.

But right now, maybe they’re struggling with motivation. Questioning college. Unsure about their future. Spending too much time distracted. Or just feeling a little lost.

And you want so badly to help that it can be hard to know when to encourage, when to push, and when to step back.

As parents ourselves, we’re still navigating this too.

And it’s a big part of why we do what we do.

In our life coaching for young adults and college students, we’re not trying to give young people all the answers.

We help them start asking better questions.

Who am I?
What matters to me?
What do I want?
And what’s one step I can take from here?

Because when a young person starts discovering those answers for themselves, something changes.

They begin to believe in themselves.

They start taking more ownership.

And little by little, they start moving forward.

If you’re watching your son or daughter struggle right now and wondering what might help, reach out.

We’d be happy to talk parent-to-parent and see if we might be the right people to support them.

What if your teen or young adult isn’t the only one who needs your attention right now?

As parents, we spend so much time thinking about our kids.

Are they happy? Motivated? Making good choices? Finding their way?

I know I do.

But somewhere in all that worrying, it’s easy to lose sight of someone else who’s still growing:

You.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned as a dad and through coaching parents of teens and young adults is that our own growth matters.

The more grounded, connected, and intentional we become, the differently we show up for our kids.

So this week, ask yourself:

Who do I want to be in this next chapter?

Then take one small step toward that person.

Go for the walk. Make the call. Start the habit. Revisit the dream.

Your kids are becoming who they’re meant to be.

You still get to become who you’re meant to be, too.

They can look like they’re doing fine… and still feel completely lost.

As life coaches for teens and young adults, we see this all the time.

Grades, activities and accomplishments only tell part of the story. What helps high school and college students truly thrive often starts below the surface: knowing who they are, what matters to them, and where they want to go.

That’s where confidence, motivation and direction begin.

Erin and I were talking recently about how easy it is to get so caught up in life that you forget to talk about the life you’re actually trying to create together.

We do it too.

The kids. Work. Money. Schedules. Parenting decisions. There’s always something that needs our attention.

And we’ve noticed that when we get stuck there, life feels heavier and our differences somehow feel bigger.

So we keep coming back to one question:

What are we building together?

Our shared purpose and vision reminds us why we chose each other, where we’re going, and what really matters to us as a family.

And I think there’s something really important in that for our teens and young adults too.

We spend so much time helping them figure out their future. They need to see us still creating ours. ❤️

Maybe ask your partner this weekend:

What do we want our next chapter to look like?

🎙️ We get really personal about this in our newest Extraordinary Purpose Podcast episode. Comment “COUPLE” and we’ll send you the link.

Erin and I love each other deeply.

But man, we can parent differently. ❤️

I tend to give our kids more space and time to figure things out. Erin is more likely to jump in, ask questions, and want to work through something right away.

And there have absolutely been moments when I’ve thought she was doing too much... and she’s thought I wasn’t doing enough. 😂

That has created some real tension between us.

But we’ve learned something that has changed the way we see each other:

Our differences were never the problem.

The real work was learning to stop trying to change each other and start seeing the strengths we each bring to our family.

We still disagree. We still get frustrated. We’re still figuring it out.

But we’re getting better at coming back to each other.

And I think that might be one of the most important things our kids can see.

We opened up about this in our newest Extraordinary Purpose Podcast episode on becoming an empowered couple and building a stronger family.

If you and your partner ever struggle to get on the same page while raising your teen or young adult, I think you’ll see a little of yourselves in this one.

Is your teen or young adult really ready for high school or college?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot with my own kids.

We spend so much time preparing them for school. Classes, schedules, supplies, dorm rooms.

But some of their biggest challenges won’t be academic.

Pressure. Distractions. Friendships. Motivation. Decisions. Setbacks.

And we won’t always be there with the answer.

That’s why one of the best things we can do is help them learn to lead themselves.

Try asking:

What do you want this year to look like?
Who do you want to become?
What’s one thing you can start doing now to get there?

Then listen.

Because success in high school and college isn’t just about grades. It’s about building the confidence, direction, habits, and self-trust to handle what comes next.

❤️ If you’re worried your teen or young adult isn’t ready for the year ahead, we can help.

Every August, we make sure our teens and young adults have everything they need for school.

But the older my kids get, the more I realize the most important things can’t be packed in a backpack.

Confidence. Purpose. Direction. Healthy habits. Focus. Resilience.

These are the things that help our kids succeed in high school and college, but more importantly, in life.

Our job isn’t just to get them ready for another school year.

It’s to help them become more prepared for who they’re becoming.

That belief is at the heart of everything we do at Extraordinary Purpose.

What do you hope your teen or young adult develops most this year?

Sometimes you just need a little perspective.

When I'm worried about one of my kids, overwhelmed by something going on in life, or trying too hard to figure everything out, I've learned that sometimes the best thing I can do is step away for a little while.

For me, that usually means getting outside.

A walk through the woods. A run. A little quiet.

It doesn't make the problem disappear. But it helps me slow down, get grounded, and remember what really matters.

And almost always, I can see the next step a little more clearly.

So if you're carrying something into this week, remember:

You don't have to figure it all out today.

Find the place that brings you back to yourself. Take a breath. Get some perspective.

Then just focus on the next step.

That's enough for today. 💚

Where do you go when you need some perspective?
