I say these things with love + the very best intentions for my small business 🫶

I want the best for every small business I work with, which is why I won't hesitate to call out issues you'd rather just keep ignoring.

Tax season has a not-so-funny way of exposing every single weak spot in your bookkeeping. 🙃

When your books are behind, tax season gets even less fun...

Your return gets extended.

The bill from your CPA has a painfully high line item for "reviewing a shoebox of receipts".

And it's nearly impossible to be sure you've captured every write-off. 🤷

I help small biz get their books cleaned up, caught up, and handled going forward so that you don't dread tax season anymore!

So if tax season humbled you, clicking the link in my bio might just be the solution. 😜

A small business came to me recently because she'd been DIYing her books, but she felt like she had ZERO understanding of what her numbers meant.

She was wondering things like:

Could she actually afford to invest in that new coaching program?

And was she saving enough to cover her tax bill?

Plus, she'd been pretty much just accepting where QuickBooks wanted to categorize her expenses, but she wasn't totally sure they were accurate.

That's where I came in.

I took a look at her books, found some major red flags in categorization that were going to make her miss out on tax write-offs, and got her books into a spot where we both felt confident her financial statements were accurate.

When we ran her P&L, we were able to answer her questions (and spoiler: she was way under-saving for taxes).

Moral of the story: Hiring me not only got this small business books caught up, but also meant she could course-correct on her tax savings before it became a much bigger issue.

Because bookkeeping isn't just about staying organized — it's about understanding your numbers well enough to make confident business decisions.

If you've been guessing when it comes to your finances, this is your sign to stop white-knuckling it and get support. 👏

A few FAQs that I’ve had in my DMs recently ↓

Do I do taxes? Nope.

But do I have a list of amaaaazing accountants I refer my clients to? 🤭

Absolutely.

What about 1099s? 👀

Luckily for all the small business owners out there, I do help with these!

On top of keeping your bookkeeping clean + up-to-date, I help most of my clients with 1099 filings in January to make their lives even easier. 🤗

My goal is always to take bookkeeping tasks off your plate so you can focus on actually running your business. ✨

I’m taking you behind-the-scenes on exactly what I did for one of my small business clients this month ↓

I started by importing and categorizing all of her transactions from her bank account, credit card, and Stripe account. 💳

I cleaned up duplicated income from Stripe to make sure we weren’t overstating her revenue.

I reclassified any personal expenses to make sure those didn’t show up on her P&L.

Then, I reconciled (matched) each of her accounts to its most recent statement. 🏦

As my final step for every small business owner, I ran her monthly financial reports, flagged anything that stood out to me, and sent her a summary email with all of my findings! 📊

Every small business owner deserves to understand exactly what happened in their business. I can give that to you! ✨

I'm all about adding whimsy to your life, but maaaybe your chart of accounts isn't the best place for it? 🤷

Things I've seen that I'm still trying to unsee:

→ A "Personal expenses" account (this really shouldn't need to be a thing; it's best practice to reclassify these!)

→ 3 different versions of "Office Expenses", "Office Expense", "Office" 😬

→ Subaccounts on subaccounts on subaccounts

→ Vague account names that make sense to you (but not to anyone else)

I'm not here to judge your chart of accounts, but I *am* here to fix it. Ask about my diagnostic reviews if you want my feedback on yours! 🧠

Answering one of my most common DM’s for any small business owner who’s been secretly wondering:

Can I still help you if you aren’t using QuickBooks?

I do work with small businesses whose bookkeeping is currently being done in a spreadsheet or another software, but we’ll be migrating your books into QuickBooks. 🫶

I truly believe QuickBooks is the best option for small businesses because it keeps your finances organized, simplifies reporting, and makes it so much easier to understand the numbers behind your business. 🖥️

As for the transition? I’ll handle it!

I do this all the time for small business owners, and I swear you’re going to LOVE QuickBooks once you see how much time, clarity, and stress it saves for your business. ✨

Planes, trains, and automobiles (and a whole bunch of receipts you need to keep) if you traveled for work this spring ↓

🧾 Flights, train tickets, ride shares, or rental cars

🧾 Hotels, AirBnbs, Vrbos

🧾 Parking + tolls

🧾 Meals (while traveling)

🧾 Conference fees or tickets

🧾 Plane WiFi

Basically, when in doubt, save your receipts, and I'll let you know which ones will help lower your tax bill.

You *might* be asking too much of Google Sheets...

It's time to tap [your preferred software] in if you want:

→ Your bank accounts to sync all of your transactions automatically

→ Customizable reports that you can compare to prior periods

→ To pay contractors and easily file their 1099s in one place

→ Extra features like branded invoices, time tracking, or inventory tracking

Your spreadsheet is tired! 🫩

Give it a well-deserved break, and I'll help you get your small business set up and everything transferred over to QuickBooks.
