A client of mine just secured her first contract for just under $1800/month after 8 months in business.
Let that be your reminder: the goal is not to stay busy chasing one-off appointments. The goal is to become so organized, credible, and solution-focused that businesses want you on their roster. You don’t need to chase every “Hey, are you available?” message to land a mobile collection contract. You need to show up like the solution they’ve been waiting for.
Here are 3 ways to get contract-ready in the next 90 days:
Sell the problem you solve...not just the needle stick or drug test.
Be the go-to for homebound patients, after-hours, workplace events, or “we need this handled yesterday” situations.
Bring operational receipts.
Have your credentials, insurance, HIPAA process, chain-of-custody logs, specimen workflow, and policies ready before they ask. Cute logo? Yes. Compliance packet? Absolutely.
Know who owns the workflow before naming your price.
Ask: Who has the lab account? Who supplies the kits? Who pays? Because “I charge $_ per draw” hits different when you understand the full operation.
Stop pitching yourself as “just a mobile collector.”
Position yourself as the polished, prepared, problem-solving partner they can trust with the patient, the specimen, and the process.
