Franklin Associates and The Executive Center are excited to announce that this year's Taste of Mid City beneficiary is the A. C. Lewis YMCA!

Located in Baton Rouge's Mid City community, The A. C. Lewis YMCA is one of seven locations of the YMCA of the Capital Area, a cause-driven nonprofit organization with a mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The A. C. Lewis YMCA provides programs and services that support children, families, adults, and seniors through wellness, aquatics, youth development, education, and community engagement opportunities.

For more than six decades, the A. C. Lewis YMCA has served as a trusted Mid City gathering place where residents can improve their health, build relationships, and access supportive resources. Through partnership, outreach, financial assistance, and programs for all ages, the YMCA connects residents with opportunities that support health, youth development, education, and social connection. Its continued presence strengthens neighborhood relationships and helps ensure that Mid City’s growth remains healthy, connected, and inclusive.

It was rewarding to visit BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo last Friday and see Franklin's past planning efforts in action! Franklin is proud to have worked on the zoo's most recent master plan and looks forward to seeing the continued improvement of the zoo and Greenwood Park!

Round 2 of the One Iberville Open House Series kicked off last week in North Iberville. Residents, elected officials, and business owners from Rosedale, Maringouin, and Grosse Tete came out to hear about the drafted master plan, view the proposed future land use map, and ask clarifying questions of the project team and the Parish President. Franklin Associates facilitated BREC's final public meeting on the City-Brooks Master Plan.

BREC's master plan is aiming to create a long-term vision for the City-Brooks Community Park, including golf course improvements, additional parking, and expanded green space. Based on public engagement, the master plan will define and implement feedback to the efforts of creating an environment serving the people who visit City-Brooks.
