From Iowa to California to Delafield, Mark Berns has built a career—and a life—rooted in curiosity, connection, and a willingness to go where the opportunity takes him.

Mark is the founder of Berns Infrastructure, where he brings his professional experience to help clients navigate the complex world of infrastructure.

Outside of work, Mark is a husband, dad to two young kids with a third on the way, and an outdoor enthusiast. After spending 10 years living in California following college, he and his family have called the Milwaukee area home since 2021.

These days, you’re likely to find Mark enjoying the outdoors with his family, exploring Delafield, or getting some work done from Irontek Delafield.

BELOIT | Sometimes the most important part of building a career isn’t finding the perfect path. It’s finding the right people along the way.

Seven years ago, Sarah Hawthorne stepped away from the security of a career in special education and into Beloit’s nonprofit community. Today, as Executive Director of Beloit Cares, she continues to build connections and create impact throughout the community.

When we asked Sarah about her journey, she shared:

“I had ‘my people’ in special education, and the Lord was kind to help me find ‘my people’ in the Beloit nonprofit (and for profit) world. Keep your head up. You will find your people.”

We couldn’t think of a better reflection of what community at Irontek is all about.

Every great business begins with a desire to solve a real problem. For Scott, that mission is making health data easier to understand for everyone.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning hospital pharmacy, health data, and insurance analytics, Scott has dedicated his career to improving the way people access and use healthcare information. Today, through Gesund Health Data, he's helping bring greater clarity to an increasingly complex world.

When he's not leading his company, Scott also shares his knowledge as an Adjunct Instructor of Applied AI at Waukesha County Technical College, helping prepare the next generation of innovators.
