It is Patriots Day in Massachusetts! A state holiday that commemorates the battles of Lexington, Concord and Menotomy at the start of the American Revolution. We at H2 Design have done our part commemorating these events, having designed and fabricated one entirely new museum and 9 museum exhibitions in 2025 and 2026 focused interpreting these events. Recently, we returned to The Depot, one of many museums owned and operated by the Lexington History Museums that tells the story of Lexington and the American Revolution and to honor its one year anniversary. 🎂

Today we were honored to talk to a few students that are part of the Tufts University Museum Studies program. To be honest, there is nothing we like more than to encourage students to consider the various careers museums offer.
Today’s focus was the work we did with the Lexington History Museums in 2022-2025. From master planning of the full campus, to a new name and identity, as well as exhibition design and production of The Depot and other museums at LHM, it was a pleasure to share how H2 Design Studio led the process, not to mention it was great to revisit before and after images!

“OCCUPIED! Newport and the Fight for Independence” opened to the public Thursday night at The Newport Historical Society. This is the third exhibition H2 Design created for NHS. It explores the occupation of the city by three different militaries during the American Revolution — the British, the French and finally, Americans. Our H2 team feels a lot of pride in our ability to take content, shape the way story is told and develop every aspect of the design —the graphic design, media, object displays and more — bringing to life an important story. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing people interact and get excited, on an opening night!

Our next exhibition to come to life!

Its got an exciting storyline, riveting history and some pretty snazzy exhibition & media design if we do say so ourselves. NHS stories are second to none!
It is the third one H2 will complete for NHS all while we continue to design the next and biggest experience yet: the all new NHS Museum of Newport History, coming next year!

On Thursday, February 19th the Newport Historical Society will be celebrating the opening of our newest America 250th exhibition at the Richard I. Burnham Resource Center. “Occupied! Newport and the Fight for Independence” will explore the three occupations of Newport during the time of the Revolutionary War.

During the Revolutionary War, Newport changed hands more than any other major seaport in North America. Valued for its deep-water harbor and strategic location, successive Continental, British, and French forces occupied the town during the conflict.

🚨 Something exciting is coming soon to Newport, Rhode Island!
H2 Design is busily buttoning up the the final installation touches on our third exhibition at the Newport Historical Society. It will explore the turbulent times in Newport during the throws of the American Revolution which saw three different military occupations.

☀️ Thinking of Arizona warmth while working from our studio during cold New England winters and reminiscing about the Reid Park Zoo, Expedition Tanzania Project from 2012. ☀️ A few of us spent a LOT of time in Tucson back then and wouldn’t mind a return visit about now! ً
