Omixon

Omixon Omixon is a molecular diagnostics company dedicated to transitioning the HLA community to NGS.

On October 16, 2024, Werfen announced the completion of its acquisition of Omixon after securing all necessary regulatory and antitrust approvals. Omixon is a global transplantation diagnostic company with a mission to provide histocompatibility laboratories with innovative technologies to improve transplant outcomes. Omixon is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, with operations in the United Stat

es, Brazil and the Netherlands serving more than 60 laboratories worldwide. Building on multidisciplinary competences in bioinformatics, software engineering, molecular biology and regulatory science, Omixon transforms molecular biology innovations into state-of-the-art products in transplant diagnostics. Omixon was the first to successfully introduce NGS-based HLA typing kit and software in 2014 by bringing Holotype HLA, an NGS-based HLA genotyping product, and HLA Twin software to market. Omixon Twin delivers the most accurate high-resolution HLA genotyping and is used in more than 60+ laboratories worldwide. Omixon was the first to release a high-resolution HLA genotyping product NanoTYPE HLA™ with less than 5 hours turnaround time on the Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform complemented by NanoTYPER™ analysis software. Omixon is the first to bring to market the first donor-derived cell-free DNA kit HoloGRAFT for laboratories with donor-informative genetic markers with primer and probe sequences that are absent in the patient genotype by design.

Kidney disease often develops silently, with no noticeable symptoms in its early stages.
Kidney disease can affect many parts of the body, increasing the risk of conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, anemia, and kidney failure.

Early detection and regular check-ups can help protect your kidney health and reduce the risk of complications.

Could the "sunshine vitamin" help chemotherapy beat pancreatic cancer tumors?

A new clinical trial shows that combining a vitamin D receptor agonist with standard chemotherapy may help it break through the physical barriers protecting pancreatic cancer tumors.

It's not often that researchers get a standing ovation in the middle of a conference presentation...

But that's exactly what happened when researchers showed that the new drug daraxonrasib doubled the survival rate of people with advanced pancreatic cancer.

On 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we are proud to spotlight a major milestone for the transplant community.

This December, we will host the first 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 bringing together different transplant disciplines under one roof:

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵: 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲
Barcelona, 1–3 December 2026

Despite remarkable progress in immunosuppression, surgical techniques, and post-operative care, metabolic complications remain one of the most persistent threats to graft function and long-term patient survival. Addressing these challenges requires a truly cross-disciplinary approach.

The programme of the conference includes:
⚫ Day 1: Common challenges across abdominal and thoracic organ transplantation
⚫ Day 2: Organ-specific and topic-focused sessions
⚫ Day 3: Multidimensional challenges after transplant: Metabolism, bone disease, and quality of life

This meeting represents a new chapter in how the transplant community comes together: 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀, tackling common barriers, and 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 to approach metabolic health as a cornerstone of transplant success.

Join us in Barcelona!
