WHO STILL HAS ACCESS TO YOUR BUILDING?
Keys get copied. Employees leave. Contractors finish projects. Residents move out. Access permissions should change when people do.
For property managers, condominium associations, schools, warehouses, and commercial facilities, periodically reviewing your access-control database is a simple but important part of building security.
5 things worth checking:
* 🔑 Remove inactive credentials — Disable cards, fobs, PINs, or mobile credentials that are no longer needed.
* 👤 Review user permissions — Not everyone needs access to every door. Assign access based on role, location, and schedule.
* 🕐 Use schedules where appropriate — Contractors, vendors, and cleaning crews can be limited to approved days and hours.
* 🚪 Test the physical door — A working reader doesn’t guarantee a secure opening. Check locks, strikes, closers, door contacts, and request-to-exit devices too.
* 📋 Review access activity — Event logs can help identify unusual access attempts, recurring door problems, and credentials that may need attention.
The goal isn’t simply keyless entry. It’s controlled, manageable access.
