Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is actually live.
Laugh harder. Be present. Make memories. Fill yourself back up.

🎬🔥 JEAN VAVRA HAS BEEN BUSY! 🔥🎬
Can we get a little love in the comments for Jean?! 👏👏👏

Take a look at just some of the incredible projects Jean has been a part of:
✨ Bobby Lee’s Bad Game Show
✨ Sabrina Carpenter: Tears
✨ You, Me, and Christmas Makes Three
✨ Strawberry Princess
✨ Bad Agent
✨ Arcasia: Life in the 626
✨ Channelvue
✨ Don’t Mind Me
✨ Swallowing Shadows
✨ Everywhere You Go
✨ Zippy Ride
✨ The Abatement
✨ Multiple Dhar Mann episodes
From comedy to drama, holiday films to web series, indie projects to widely viewed online content, Jean continues to build an impressive and diverse body of work.

One of the things we love most is seeing actors continue to put themselves out there, create opportunities, and say "yes" to the work. Every set, every role, and every project adds another layer of experience, confidence, and growth.
We're incredibly proud of everything Jean has accomplished and can't wait to see what project pops up next on this already impressive list! 🎭🎥✨

Way to go, Jean! 🚀

One of the biggest things that pulls me out of a scene?
When actors completely stop their doing just to say a line.
Real life doesn’t work that way.

We cook and talk.
Fold clothes and talk.
Walk the dog and talk.
Live and communicate at the same time.

That’s one reason I love Meisner training and independent activities. It teaches actors how to stay connected to what they’re doing while still being connected to their partner.

The result feels more truthful, more human, and less “performed.”

Actors often ask, "What should I do with my hands?"
Usually that's not the real question.

The real question is:
"How do I stop feeling self-conscious?"
Because when actors become overly aware of themselves, they often start monitoring every movement, every expression, and every line.
The result can feel controlled instead of lived.
One of the fastest ways to break that habit is to place your attention outside yourself.
On the environment.
On the other person.
On a problem that needs solving.
Human beings are naturally active. We are constantly adjusting, reacting, organizing, fixing, searching, and responding.

When your focus shifts away from how you're coming across and toward what you're actually experiencing, something interesting happens:
You become much easier to watch.
Not because you're trying harder.
Because you're finally living in the scene instead of demonstrating it.

🎭 What's a scene you've worked on where a simple activity completely changed the moment?

Meisner reminded us that truthful acting starts with the given circumstances.
Who are you? Where are you? What just happened?
When those details become real, emotions don’t need to be forced—they emerge naturally. Trust the circumstances and let them affect you.

Many actors spend so much time trying to create emotion that they overlook where emotional life actually comes from.
The given circumstances are not just background information—they are fuel.
Who are you?
Where are you?
What just happened?
What do you need?
When those circumstances become real to you, your inner life doesn't need to be manufactured. It begins to emerge naturally.
Trust the circumstances. Let them affect you.

Inside a Meisner class.

Before the scene ever begins, the actors use improvisation to find their grounding, emotional life, and connection to one another. Once that connection is alive and truthful, I have them move into the scripted scene and ride the dialogue on top of it.

The result? More presence. More listening. More spontaneity.

Instead of getting locked into a predetermined performance, they stay connected to each other and to the moment. That’s where truthful behavior lives—and where the idea of “acting” starts to disappear.

While I’m in the room teaching…
she’s making sure everything else runs.
Schedules. Students. Communication. The details that actually matter.

Because a school doesn’t work without someone holding it all together behind the scenes.

And I don’t take that for granted.

✨ Congratulations to Anthony Tolson-white✨

After standing out in a 48 Hour Film Festival, this actor caught the attention of a manager and officially signed with representation!

As if that wasn't exciting enough, he also landed TWO lead roles in short films shortly after. 🎬🎬
Manager? Check.
Lead roles? Check.
Momentum? Absolutely.

Congratulations on an amazing series of wins! We can't wait to see where this journey takes you next. 🎉🎭
