CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. — American Legion Post 169 has turned its damaged facility into an emergency relief hub after historic storms left widespread destruction across Eastern Indiana. Eight feet of floodwater poured into the post's basement, destroying the charitable gaming equipment that directly funds the post's operations. Setting their own losses aside, post members and volunteers stepped up to serve three free meals daily to displaced residents and cleanup crews while distributing essential supplies like bottled water, toiletries, and cleaning products.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ride to Ride Out Breast Cancer Gaming Facility is expanding its outreach across Bullitt County and surrounding areas, fueled by revenue from its charitable gaming center. Founded by two-time cancer survivor John Kasey, the nonprofit provides free medical transportation, financial assistance, and emotional support to families navigating a cancer diagnosis. A dedicated team of volunteers drive up to 50 patients every week to and from essential doctor appointments. To keep up with growing demand, the organization recently used its charitable gaming proceeds to purchase an SUV, expanding its patient transport fleet. Those same charitable gaming funds are also powering a new game room set to open soon. Packed with pool, pinball, and foosball, The Spot will provide free entertainment for the entire community.

MANCHESTER, Ohio – The Manchester Veterans Club is continuing its commitment to local youth by helping fund higher education for area students. Using proceeds generated from charitable gaming operations, the club regularly awards scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $1,700 to graduating high school seniors. "Doesn't matter the GPA, doesn't matter the extracurriculars. If they're going on to higher education, whether it be technical or academic, we provide a scholarship," said club member Terry Himes. "In my time here, we've donated over $150,000 in scholarships." Beyond academic aid, the Manchester Veterans Club recently donated $15,000 in charitable gaming proceeds to a local children’s home to help fund facility renovations. “Whatever we can do to help this village, any child succeed, we'll do it,” said Himes.

Hoosiers wagered nearly a half-billion dollars during the first six months of the year on electronic pull tab machines located in veterans and fraternal lodges throughout Indiana.

Data released Tuesday by the Indiana Gaming Commission show a total of $479.4 million was deposited in 2,884 electronic pull tab machines between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2026.
