Current Consulting Group

Current Consulting Group The Current Consulting Group (CCG) provides a customized supervisor and employee friendly policy designed to help you achieve your drug testing objectives.

We also provide social media support, webinar hosting, and speak regularly at industry events. The difference between success and failure is how well you can close the gap between what you know and what you don’t know. You can learn 70% of drug testing in six months, but the other 30% will take the next 15 years to learn. The problem is, that 30% is the key to success. The Current Consulting Group

, LLC (CCG) exists to help providers and their clients close that gap as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. CCG was born from numerous discussions over a decade or more, many of which involved trying to solve the issues that make up the 30%. CCG consists of several well-known experts in the field of employee screening, each with a depth of knowledge and experience that has resulted in distinguished careers in drug testing, background checks, and other screening services. Each CCG consultant brings to the team his or her own viewpoints, but together we share a common passion to help service providers grow their business and employers get the most out of drug testing and other screening practices. We know that the industry is always progressing and that advances in technology and changes in law and even public opinion will continue to impact how each of us provides or uses drug testing and other employee screening services. The mission of the Current Consulting Group is to create solutions that advance the employee screening industry and that improve the experience of companies that buy and sell screening services.

New episode alert - Currently Speaking on 10 Reasons Why a Drug Testing Policy Needs to Be Updated Regularly

In this episode of Currently Speaking, Bill Current explains why regularly updating your drug testing policy is essential to maintaining a safe, compliant, and effective drug-free workplace program.

Drawing on findings from Current Consulting Group’s 2025 employer survey, Bill discusses how employers measure the return on investment of drug testing and why most organizations continue to view it as a highly effective tool for promoting workplace safety, improving hiring quality, reducing legal risks, and supporting compliance.

Bill then outlines 10 key reasons employers should review and update their policies on a regular basis, including increasing ma*****na and fentanyl use, emerging drugs of abuse, drug use during and before work, rising post-accident positivity rates, rapidly changing state ma*****na laws, new testing methods such as oral fluid testing, upcoming DOT oral fluid testing regulations, and shifting company priorities. He also adds an eleventh reason: business expansion into additional states, each with its own legal requirements.

If it has been more than a year since your company last reviewed its policy, this episode provides a compelling case for why now is the time to make sure your program reflects current laws, regulations, and workplace realities.
