Well it's not quite woodworking but it was a big project at the mill the past couple of days.

We (me) removed the old "manure ramp" that we used when our 26 stall barn equestrian center was filled with horses. It was easier to dump into the spreader from above. We closed the training center almost 20 years ago.

Then I had several dump trucks of clean dirt brought in to fill in the steep drop off. The area will be planted and now I'll be able to mow it.

Thank you Material Handlers for getting the dirt here before the rains started today.

Occasionally in the woodworking world I get some interesting requests.

This was a project for a soon to be grandparent couple. They it was to be a surprise for their expectant daughter and her husband. The project was a "gender announcement" stork. It would be set outside the young couples front door. If the bundle was blue - boy. Pink - girl. Made out of MDF.

l am a retired commercial artist. One of my talents is cartooning.

I drew the delivery stork onto the MDF. Jigsawed the outline around the character. Painted it, leaving the bundle white for them to add the color when the baby's gender was know. The grandparents would then set it on the front porch of the new parents for the neighborhood and world to see. The stork is approximately 5.5 feet tall.

Due to Insurance Provider issues, PCS&W will not be taking any new sawmill customers. Those customers that have logs here at the farm will be getting their orders fulfilled.

We will be offering our stock of rough cut until it is gone. I will be milling for my own use. I will still continue to make products for our store. Tables, mantels, serving/cutting boards, etc.

Evidently our new insurance provider does not cover woodworking businesses. Sorry about this very recent development.

Milling lots of logs to become flooring for a new home being built here in SW Iowa. This run is 5/4 x 134" x 10.5". The remainder is probably 4/4. Ash, walnut, and oak. The walnut is waiting for its turn on the 1600.
