On World Hunger Day, we’re reflecting on what it means to care for our neighbors right here at home. 💚

We’re grateful to live in a community filled with organizations that work every day to provide nourishment and stability for families in need. In honor of World Hunger Day, we invited our partners at Hilliard Food Pantry Plus and Healthy New Albany to share what this day means to them, and we are so thankful for the impact they make in our community.

World Hunger Day is a reminder that meaningful change begins locally and that each of us has the ability to make a difference. Whether it’s donating, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness, every action matters.

Today, we encourage you to support your local food pantry and help ensure every family in our community has access to the food and support they need to thrive.

Happy Birthday to our Founder & CEO, Michelle Cramer! 🎂

Michelle has spent her career showing nonprofits just how powerful they truly are. Her belief in the power of philanthropy, and in the people who champion it, has changed countless lives.

And we get to work alongside her every single day. Lucky us! 🧡

Wishing you a day as bright as the impact you make every day. 🎉

On Thursday, CAPA broke ground on Wrightsel Music Hall, and we couldn't be prouder to have walked alongside the CAPA - Columbus Association for the Performing Arts team on this transformational $14 million campaign. The historic Central Presbyterian Church, a downtown landmark since 1859, will be reimagined as a community-centered performance venue with room for 600 guests and programming designed to welcome every family in central Ohio.

This campaign was made possible by a foundational gift from the Wrightsel Family Foundation and the extraordinary generosity of more than 250 donors who said "yes" to the power of the arts in our community. This new venue is slated to open in late 2027, and we cannot wait to be there for the first performance!

To Elfi DiBella, Barbara Markus, Chad Whittington, the Wrightsel Family Foundation, the CAPA Board, and the many supporters who made this vision possible, take a bow. You’ve earned every note of applause headed your way for making this visionary project possible!

We're excited to spotlight our partnership with Our Lady of Peace Catholic Parish!

Our Lady of Peace has been serving families in the Clintonville community for more than 80 years. This vibrant, multigenerational Catholic parish is a place where families grow in their faith, students are educated in Christ, and lifelong connections are made.

We're grateful to partner with a parish so deeply rooted in service, faith, and community.

History is in the making ✨

We’re honored to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Ohio History Connection's Poindexter Village African American Museum and the incredible momentum behind the Lift Every Legacy campaign. With a fundraising goal of $25.9 million, this project will preserve and elevate an essential part of Columbus history for future generations.

This milestone was made possible through the vision and generosity of so many community partners and supporters. A heartfelt thanks to the campaign’s honorary chairs and co-chairs for their outstanding leadership and commitment to bringing this project to life.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from a truly meaningful day.

86 years after Poindexter Village opened its doors, its legacy is being preserved for generations to come.

Yesterday, our partners at the Ohio History Connection broke ground on the Poindexter Village African American Museum, preserving the last two buildings of one of the nation's first public housing communities for African Americans. The future museum is expected to welcome 17,000 visitors each year, serving as a first-of-its-kind hub for art, education, and culture on Columbus’ Near East Side.

We are honored to be working alongside the Ohio History Connection on this historic project and the Lift Every Legacy campaign. Congratulations to the many leaders who are committed to making this vision a reality: Megan Wood, Priscilla Tyson, Jerry Dannemiller, Truda Shinker, Neil Thompson, Anthony Gibbs, and Shelbi Toone.

Poindexter Village was one of the first public housing complexes in the nation when it opened in Columbus in 1940. Now two of its original buildings are set to become a museum featuring African American and Columbus history.

When a board is truly governing with purpose and clarity, the mission soars. The good news? Strong governance is something every organization can build.

In our latest blog, Dawn Robinson, CFRE shares why governance is the foundation beneath every thriving nonprofit, the common patterns we see when it breaks down, and where leaders can begin strengthening their boards.

Missions don't move on their own.

We’re wrapping up our National Volunteer Week series with Senior Consultant, Angie Hartley, who reminded us exactly why volunteers are so essential to the nonprofits they serve.

Thanks for following along with our series! Here's to the many volunteers who continue to show up for the causes they care about.

Sometimes volunteering begins on the receiving end.

Continuing our National Volunteer Week series with Marketing & Communications Manager, Ava Meiner, who volunteers with The Mantle, the youth group at Saint Brigid of Kildare Parish, and the same youth group she grew up in as a teen. We asked Ava what she loves about the Mantle now that she's come back to it as a volunteer. Her answer is a reminder of what volunteering can become over a lifetime.
