TOTALLY FUN!!! I am very HONORED to have been selected by the Fairbanks North Star Borough to Hand Paint and Hand Letter the new signage for the recently renamed from Pioneer Park to ALASKALAND.
The main entrance sign is made up of 14 individual metal panels measuring approximately 46 inches x 28 inches. They were all primed using red oxide etching primer, backgrounded with Sherwin Williams PRO Industrial Paint, and lettered with 1Shot Metallic Gold, and outlined with 1Shot Lettering Black. The finished panel is then clear coated with a 2K Clear. The backside was painted with Rust-Oleum Flat Black oil Enamel. The Main Entrance Sign is complete and installed as of last Friday. The Rear Entrance Sign is still being painted at this time, but is getting close to completion. It is constructed out of two 10 foot by 24 inch panels of ACM, and painted the same as the main sign.
When the Sunlight hits the GOLD letters, after this rainy spell is over, it will be magnificent! A huge upgrade from the faded Yellow letters that were there.
I am very proud to have been a part of this Renaming and Rebranding project!!! I hope the citizens of Fairbanks enjoy the new signs and get as much enjoyment as I have had in creating them! Thank you Fairbanks North Star Borough Alaskaland, and the fine folks of Fairbanks for supporting me and my little hand ,made sign shop through the years! This means you too Lee Williams, Park Manager!
