Fiber Update: Virginia City & Gold Hill
The initial buildout of the fiber network in Virginia City and Gold Hill is now complete. Fiber lines are in place and ready to serve homes and businesses.
Service is not turned on automatically. To connect, contact CC Communications to schedule installation at your home or business at 775-423-7171 or visit www.cccomm.net.

What’s Next: Virginia City Highlands
Fiber expansion to Virginia City Highlands is expected to begin in Spring 2026, with work anticipated to start in April. Timing is subject to weather, permitting, and material availability. Updates will be shared as the project progresses on our website.

Installation Eligibility (Highlands Area)
Storey County is funding fiber infrastructure in the project area. Installation costs are covered for eligible properties up to 500 feet.

To qualify, properties must have a commercial utility pole located within the property line. Properties without an existing commercial pole on-site are not eligible at this time.

Last week, CC Communications celebrated Public Safety Telecommunications Week 💙

On Friday, we dropped off small tokens of appreciation to our local dispatchers as a thank-you for all they do for our community.

We also celebrated our team with breakfast burritos, brand new hats, and a little fun with our Passion Board—guessing each other’s passion statements to earn raffle tickets 🎟️

We chose to highlight Passion, one of our core values, because it truly shows in the work our employees and dispatchers do every day 💕
