In the 40's and early 50's Christmas was a sacred religious holiday. The media shifted it to sell toys. Let's create a different shift. I'll begin. I want to express the gratitude of having grandparents who left a country where they lived well but lost it to oppressors. They came to this country and created wealth and worked hard to realize their dreams. I'm grateful to my father who didn't let anti-semitism stop him from introducing new ideas to merchandising that changed how we shop. I'm grateful to my mother who lost her's at age 11 and still thrived. She showed me how to overcome obstacles and not become a victim. I am so grateful for my daughters who taught me more than I taught them. I'm grateful to my grandchildren who love me unconditionally! I'm grateful to my son-in-laws who take such good care of my daughters and grandchildren (and me, too). My nieces and nephews add joy to my day. I've been blessed with so many incredible students that brightened my day and years of connection. I'm grateful to the teachers I have been fortunate to work with over the years and the wisdom they shared. Adele Cooke you started me on a path I will always appreciate, may you rest in peace knowing you had a huge impact not just on me, but on my students, as well. I could not be more grateful for the children who call me Auntie even though I am not a blood relative. My dance friends keep me young and for that I am grateful. I'm grateful for the amazing neighborhood my kids grew up in and where I can live my senior years with neighbors who watch out for each other. I'm grateful for the Elks Lodge where I can spend my retirement years helping others while having a ton of fun with great people! Hugs abound there. The more I focus on what I am grateful for, the more I find I am grateful for. The list will continue..I feels so good!

Happiest children are not the ones with the most toys. They are the ones who appreciate the few toys they have.
