How do you go from pro soccer player to VP of one of the largest mortgage companies in America – more importantly what did he learn along the way, the answer is A LOT! Once an Olympic USA Soccer Player, Brian quickly learned how to get "cut" and literally... get cut. Fitness and mindset became masteries for Brian very early as his career was affected by the 2007 market crash just years after his s

occer team days came to an end, right when he was raising toddlers with his wife Nicole. Brian has mastered the art of a growth mindset, the art of winning, and the art of staying fit. Brian is an executive at loanDepot, a proud father, an influencer, a top rated podcaster and, just simply, a fabulous soccer dad. He throws the suit down and coaches his daughters league with joy several times a week. It's Brian's mission with his new book, "Conversations with Covey", to highlight some of the most incredible stories he's gotten to share on his podcast, the Brian Covey Show. Its all about balance! Ever since Brian was a child he has had this instinctive urge for expansion and growth. “To me, the function and duty of a quality human being is the sincere and honest development of one's potential.”

Growing up in Memphis, TN his love for the sport of soccer led him to travel the world, compete at the highest levels & experience so much that has shaped him into the husband, dad & leader he is today. Today, Brian is a VP in the mortgage industry with loanDepot, one of the top 5 lenders in the country. He is still very passionate about being part of a championship team and equipping his team with the tools to excel, leadership development & leading change in the mortgage industry. Brian’s influencer outreach doesn’t stop there: he is also a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council & serves on various committees. What has given Brian the motivation & drive to become the powerhouse inspirational influencer he is today are a few basic tenants he lives by:

1. Be kind to others and put out positive energy to attract the right people
2. Always be a learner & addicted to growth through personal development
3. Be hungry and have hustle in your game, giving & sharing your talents and gifts with others
4. Surround yourself with great people / association matters
5. Be passionate about your vision and live your purpose today

Great Saturday here in Columbus 🥍

Scored some goals, won a lot of face offs, got to visit the local LAX store & go to one of Nicole’s favorite restaurants Piada for lunch. 🏆

Got a little worried the longer Nicole got to hold that cute puppy 😂

Lacrosse has its own vibe I’m learning and loving seeing the boys keep competing & improving

Finished the workout this morning. Had time left. Grabbed the heavier bell. 70 # to 80 #

Nobody required it. That’s the point.

The way you talk to yourself mid-rep determines whether you finish. Same is true when your day goes sideways.

Train the self-talk. Do one more rep. Protect your vibe.

What are you telling yourself when things get hard?

The weekend isn’t a break from your goals.

It’s where your goals are either protected or surrendered.

I learned this the hard way.
Working hard Monday through Friday, then handing it all back Saturday and Sunday.

Telling myself I earned it.
Wondering why my results were flat.

What I was missing wasn’t talent or effort.
It was margin.
Intentional margin on the days most people write off.

Stack enough of those weekend wins, and 90 days from now you’ll barely recognize the gap you closed.

Two teams made a move this year.
Both called me within 90 days saying the same thing: “It was nothing like they promised.”

This is not rare. This is the industry right now.
Vision without ex*****on is just a sales pitch.

The culture of overpromise and underdeliver is real, and it’s costing people their careers & peace

Before you make your next move, talk to the people actually IN the building, not just the ones recruiting you.

Ask the hard questions. Move right, not just fast.

What are you seeing out there? 👇

Slidell was a blast.

Grateful to for the invite and to everyone who showed up ready to grow.

Events like this remind me why I love this industry, the people in it, and the opportunity we have to win together in any market.

Thank you to Lisa Frazier and Allegiance Title for co-sponsoring, and to Crave 985 for the hospitality & great food.

Big things happening with our team & super excited for it all.

Winning in today’s market is more than a mindset - we went over the key plays to run to win in any market especially right now.
