Place-based strategic solutions for communities and destinations. Helping Economic Development, Workforce Development, and Tourism-Based Organizations Thrive
Every community has a characteristic sense of place. At PPR Strategies, we add the polish and make it shine. For nearly two decades, the PPR Strategies team has helped economic development, workforce develo

pment, and tourism organizations discover their potential, attract new investment, and elevate their identities. Over the years, PPR Strategies has grown from a one-person operation to a talented team of professionals in the Mid-Atlantic. We’re strategists, writers, and media mavens, but we’re also consumers, adventurers, and devoted citizens.

What makes a community special? It’s more than new development, business growth, or major investments. Often, it’s the traditions, people, and experiences that make a place feel like home.

In this week’s blog, our Client & Content Strategist Caleigh explores why communities should look beyond projects to uncover the stories that make their communities unique, including a decades-long neighborhood volleyball tradition in her hometown.

Read the blog here https://pprstrategies.com/what-makes-your-community-special/. And tell us in the comments, what’s one tradition or story that makes your community special?

Help us welcome our fall intern, Andrea, to the PPR team! She is a junior at George Washington University, majoring in International Business with minors in Economics and Organizational Sciences.

Andrea loves to travel, has lived on three continents, and speaks three languages! She’s also a food tour connoisseur and tries out new food spots around the DMV every week. Her favorite genre to read is psychological thrillers (shoutout to Freida McFadden)! We’re excited to have Andrea on the team!

As National Wellness Month comes to a close, we’re taking a look at how the PPR team makes time to unwind, recharge, and enjoy life outside of work. From traveling to visiting farmers markets to doing puzzles, everyone has their own way of prioritizing wellness.

Here’s a peek behind the scenes with our client, Charles County Economic Development!

Caleigh was on site this week coordinating a video shoot and capturing the people and places that make Charles County’s business community stand out. We were excited to work with Tread Productions to bring the shoot to life! We always love getting the opportunity to be on site with our clients and help tell their stories.

Checking in from Georgetown County, South Carolina! Meg is on site this week with our friends at Georgetown County Economic Development, coordinating a photoshoot for their annual report with photographer Golden Photos CHS. She also got a sneak peek at a site visit for their upcoming Fall Meeting, which we’ll be coordinating in November!

We always love the opportunity to get out of the office, visit our clients and see the work happening in the communities we’re proud to support.

Our summer interns, Ellen Haley and Tatiana Grant, are back on their college campuses after a great four months with the PPR team! In this week’s blog, they reflect on the lessons they learned, the experiences that shaped their summers, and how their internships will influence their work moving forward.

We’re grateful for everything Ellen and Tatiana brought to PPR this summer and can’t wait to see where they go next! Read their blog here: https://pprstrategies.com/side-by-side-lessons-learned-across-two-internships/.

Nothing says summer in Maryland quite like a good old-fashioned crab feast! This week, some of our team spent time sharing great conversations and enjoying some of the best food Maryland has to offer. Moments like these give us a chance to connect beyond the work, build stronger relationships, and continue strengthening the communities we’re proud to serve.

August is National Black Business Month, and it serves as a reminder that supporting local businesses doesn’t always require a big investment. Sometimes, it’s as simple as trying a new restaurant, sharing a social media post, signing up for a class, or choosing a local business for your next gift.

This week’s blog shares 7 simple ways to show up for Black-owned businesses this month and all year long. Read the blog here https://pprstrategies.com/small-actions-mighty-impact-celebrating-national-black-business-month/ and tag in the comments a Black-owned business you’re supporting!

What does the future of local government look like? The PPR Team is in Ocean City this week for the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Summer Conference to be part of the conversation! This year’s theme, “Build What’s Next,” is bringing together nearly 2,000 local, state, and federal government leaders to talk about the issues, opportunities, and ideas shaping Maryland’s communities.

Our favorite part of MACo? Seeing so many of our current and past clients! Bob and Sandy are spending the week meeting with clients, catching up with familiar faces, and talking about the work happening in communities across the state.

Here are a few of the faces we’ve seen so far!
