GARLAND RESIDENTS!!!
S.A.F.E. is a program designed for Garland residents with unique communication concerns when interacting with police officers. This includes those with intellectual, emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders, and residents with specific communication challenges.

The program is NOT for individuals with other medical concerns that do not create these challenges or barriers to communication.

This voluntary program allows family members and caregivers to provide specific information to the Garland Police Department in the event a police officer must respond to their home.

If your loved one becomes missing, officers would be aware of their challenges, residence, and emergency contact to get them home safely.

By working together, we create a community where the needs of ALL of our residents can be communicated, ensuring effective encounters with first responders.

To learn more about the S.A.F.E. program or to see if you are eligible, don't hesitate to get in touch with our Victim Advocate at 972-205-2067.

MOTHER FOUND GUILTY IN DEATH OF 3-YEAR-OLD NOLA DINKINS 🚨
A Maryland jury has found Darrian Randle guilty of murder and child abuse charges in the death of her 3-year-old daughter, Nola Dinkins, ending a case that began with a false kidnapping report and a statewide Amber Alert.
According to investigators, Randle contacted police in June 2025 claiming her daughter had been abducted at gunpoint in Newark, Delaware.
Authorities quickly launched a large-scale search and issued an Amber Alert.
However, investigators soon discovered inconsistencies in Randle’s story.
Surveillance footage from the family’s residence allegedly showed Randle leaving the home alone, without Nola.
Police also reported finding evidence inside the home that raised suspicions, including the odor of bleach and discarded gloves.
According to court records, Randle later admitted that the kidnapping story was fabricated.
Investigators say she confessed to beating Nola with a belt multiple times inside the family’s home.
Authorities allege that after realizing the child was no longer breathing, Randle contacted her boyfriend, Cedrick Antoine Britten, for help.
Prosecutors say the child’s body was later placed inside a suitcase and transported to Cecil County, Maryland, where human remains consistent with a child were eventually discovered.
This week, a jury found Randle guilty of:
⚖️ First-Degree Murder
⚖️ First-Degree Child Abuse Resulting in Death
⚖️ First-Degree Child Abuse – Course of Conduct
Randle is scheduled to be sentenced on October 2, 2026, in Cecil County, Maryland.
Britten remains charged separately in connection with the case.
🕊️ Nola Dinkins was just 3 years old.
💔 What began as an Amber Alert ended in one of the region’s most heartbreaking child homicide cases.

A $10,000 reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers for information in the mass shooting at a Birmingham house.
Birmingham’s Deputy Chief of Public Safety Carlton Peeples released this statement Friday afternoon:
The shooting in the Sandusky community is unacceptable. Two people have lost their lives, two others remain in critical condition, and three more are recovering from injuries.
As a city, we must wake up. We cannot allow this level of violence to become normalized or accepted. This is not who we want to be as Birmingham, and it is not the future we are willing to accept. Every life lost is one too many, and every act of violence tears at the fabric of our community.
To help bring those responsible to justice, a $10,000 reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest in this case. If you know something, say something. Your information could help provide answers to grieving families and help prevent further violence in our community.
We must come together, as neighbors, families, faith leaders, community organizations, and law enforcement, to reject violence, support one another, and choose a different path for our city
