FLX CHAMBER HOSTS 2026 CHAMBER CUP AT BIG OAK GOLF COURSE
(Geneva, NY) - The Finger Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 2026 Chamber Cup Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 20, at Big Oak Golf Course. The event featured businesses from around the Finger Lakes that signed up for sponsorships, teams, and on-course advertising booth spaces.
Among the 29 teams that registered for the scramble-style tournament, the winning team was Bowers Accountants & Advisors of Syracuse, consisting of Scott Gerken, Steve Kelley, Ryan Kretchmer, and Ryan Noone. Originally tied with Dominguez Marketing, who had won first place over the last two consecutive years in the Chamber’s Golf tournaments, final tallies and scoring were conducted by Big Oak staff, revealing that Bowers was the winner of the tie breaker.
In addition to golf, participants at the tournament enjoyed the return of activity stations set up by member businesses displayed throughout the course, offering a variety of games and giveaways. The increase in regional participation at this year's tournament was unmatched, with a record-breaking 34 businesses and organizations signing up for on-course advertising, and 24 of those attending to set up vendor stations with branded displays. This growing number reflected a 26% increase over last year’s event participation, reinforcing the value of the regional connections that businesses continue to receive at this popular once-a-year occasion.
“We wish to thank this year’s sponsors and supporters and our Annual Partners for their generosity and support in helping to make events such as these possible,” stated Miranda Odell, Chamber President.
Promotional Sponsors for this year’s tournament were Beginnings Credit Union and Cayuga Nation Enterprises. Additional contributions were supplied by Wegmans of Geneva, Club Beverage Co., Inc. and Mark's Pizzeria. The event was also supported by the Chamber’s 2026 Annual Partners – Canandaigua National Bank, Casella Waste Systems, Community Broadband Networks - FLX, Emerson Cleaning Services, LLC, ESL Federal Credit Union, Fairfield Inn & Suites Geneva Finger Lakes by Marriott, World Insurance Associates LLC Finger Lakes Partners Insurance, Four Winds Chimney, Guardian Industries, Halco, HEP Sales North Main Lumber, Lakeside Roofing and Siding Materials, Lakeside Roofing and Siding Materials Inc, Massa Construction, N-Hance of the Finger Lakes, Reliant Credit Union, and Waterloo Container.
The 2026 Chamber Cup Golf Tournament was coordinated by Chamber President Miranda Odell and Event Chair Sabrina Buckley. Additional support was provided by the Chamber’s ambassador committee, which manages and ensures a smooth multi-stop registration and check-in process, as well as the on-course games fundraising component.
“Special thanks to Sabrina Buckley of Community Broadband FLX for working many late hours on this event and going above and beyond as an honorary Chamber team member. She was responsible for coordinating many of the details that go on behind the scenes, that our event participants do not see, but are critical for the event to run successfully, and for that I’m extremely grateful,” Odell added.
As one of the Chamber’s main annual events, the Golf Tournament is one of the primary fundraisers that provides proceeds for key programs, benefits, and new initiatives to support and promote the Chamber’s customers and member businesses.
