We will be here until 8 pm and tomorrow noon to 8 pm.

The Grangeville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting at the new Idaho County Jail today. An open house is running today through 8 p.m., and tomorrow, Friday, April 24, noon to 8 p.m., for all those who are interested in seeing the new facilities.

A body scanner was installed at the new jail today; as seen in the picture it can effectively detect guns, keys, and cell phones, and help prevent contraband from entering our facility.

It’s not every day we watch one of our detention deputies graduate, but today we had the extreme honor of watching three!

Detention Deputy Bass Myers, Detention Deputy Tyler Bakos, and Detention Deputy Ben Lindsey graduated from POST Detention Academy 99.

We are so proud of you and glad to have you all home! Congratulations and thank you for choosing to serve Idaho County!

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Arik Wambold, who has multiple active felony warrants.

Wambold was last seen in the Lolo Creek area near the 500 Road. He is known to camp in the forest, and a campsite confirmed to be his was recently located and removed. At this time, he is not believed to have camping supplies and may be attempting to obtain some.

If you see Wambold, do not approach him. Wambold is believed to be armed. Contact the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office at 208-983-1100 or 911.
