Trends come and go, but I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited about one than THIS trend brought to us by the graduating class of 2027. ✨

I’ve said for years that digital photography has slowly chipped away at artistic portraiture as a whole. Modern cameras are so insanely sharp and high resolution that sometimes all people see are pores, texture, and tiny imperfections instead of the feeling behind the image.

Somewhere along the way, photos started feeling more clinical than emotional.

Leave it to the younger generation to completely flip the script.

These seniors are digging out early-2000s digital cameras and embracing the raw, blurry candids, unedited flaws, chaotic angles, direct flash, and all the silly little moments that actually FEEL like being a teenager. Honestly? It’s refreshing. It’s nostalgic. It’s fun. And it brings personality back into photography in a way I absolutely love.

Completely obsessed with this vibe, and so excited to challenge myself to let go of perfection for a summer full of seniors embracing it. 🙌🏻

After moving away, I was worried my “city” clients would be reluctant to drive alllll the way out to Greenfield (okay it’s like 15 minutes west of Plymouth, it’s not the sticks by any means), but what I failed to factor is the amazing people who live out this way looking for something fresh and new, as well as the power of referrals and Google.

Enter Ashlynn. A Delano senior that checked both the referral and Google boxes when her mom realized I had done their extended family photos previously after googling local photographers. It was just meant to be!

Ashlynn, you amaze me. You are so driven, organized, and genuinely one of the sweetest people. The way you carry yourself with kindness, patience, and determination already says so much about the kind of teacher you’re going to become. Your future students are going to be incredibly lucky to have someone like you guiding and encouraging them. 🤍

Congratulations on your graduation and I wish you the best as you embark on your next adventure! 🧡

Tristan, you may have grown up, but somehow your smile has never changed. 😄 There’s still the same warmth and kindness there, just now paired with the confidence and maturity of a young man ready for his next chapter.

There’s something really special about this stage of life; watching someone step into adulthood while still holding onto the qualities that make them uniquely who they are.

Wishing you nothing but the best in this next chapter, Tristan. Congratulations on such an exciting milestone!

And to his momma, thank you for trusting me all these years with your most precious memories. You often say I have a gift, but truly the gift is you. ❤️

How are we here??? I swear you were just two, like yesterday. 😭

Andrew, you are the kind of person who brings energy wherever you go. Adventurous, full of life, and incredibly kind. You’re completely yourself in front of the camera, which made every photo feel natural, confident, and fun. And that smile? It radiates your genuine warmth from within.

It’s exciting to see someone with so much personality and drive stepping into this next chapter of life. There are many amazing things ahead for you!

Congratulations and best of luck as you head off onto your next adventure! 🎓

I know, I know. My posts have predominantly been senior girls crushing their photos, so time to show some love to all the senior boys out here rocking their photos, too (even though most are “just doing this for my mom”).😆

Grayson… where do I begin. From a spunky little 4-year-old to somehow this grown-up young man ready to take on the world. You should be so proud of all you have accomplished and the person you’ve become. Watching you grow over the years has been such a privilege.

And while you may have done these photos mostly for your mom, someday you’ll realize just how meaningful these moments and memories are for her to have. ❤️

Wishing you all the best as you begin this next chapter in life. 📖

Congratulations, Grayson! 🎓

Five years ago, I met this funny, spirited girl in a sunflower field with her dad, and I had no idea how much she would come to mean to me. 🌻

Being your stepmom has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life, Gwen. Watching you grow into yourself, find your voice, and slowly realize just how much strength and potential have been inside you all along has been such a privilege.

I absolutely love your heart and the way you care so deeply about the people around you. Your personality, your humor, your big feelings, your energy... it's what makes you unforgettable. 💛

While I am so incredibly proud of you, I hope you are incredibly proud of yourself, too. You have already overcome hard things, grown through difficult seasons, and continued showing up even when life felt overwhelming. The way you keep moving forward, even when things aren't easy, is something to be proud of.

I hope you continue learning to trust yourself and see your own potential the way the people who love you already do.

You are capable of great things, but also hard things, and that will carry you far in life. There will be moments where you doubt yourself, but I hope you remember that courage isn't the absence of fear, it's continuing forward anyway. I can't wait to see where life takes you next, and I'll be cheering you on along the whole way.

Love you forever, Gwen. Congratulations, and happy 18th birthday (because of course you'd turn 18 on graduation day….. that's just so very you). 💞

I *meant* to make this post a year ago. To celebrate this very special young woman and all of her wonderful achievements as she is so near and dear to my heart. 🤍

I was going to tell you about her wonderful mother who gave me a chance, becoming my very first photography client. She loved photography just as much as me and it is what drew us together. We were pregnant with our 2006 babies at the same time, she was due just a couple weeks before me, but I was adamant that I would be there to capture the birth of her second baby as I was for her first. I’ll never forget her apologizing mid push for throwing up on my shoe. 😆 And of course that sweet cry as she welcomed her baby girl into the world.

But then life happened. Or rather, the opposite. I think I cried more last year than I have in my entire life. Watching your best friend of 22 years slip away changes something in you. There are no words for the ache of losing someone who was woven so deeply into your life for so long.

And somewhere in the middle of all that grief was this beautiful full-circle moment… standing behind my camera photographing that same little girl I once watched enter the world, now graduating and stepping into adulthood. From your first breath to cap-and-gown photos… it all felt impossible and sacred at the same time.

Jordyn, your mom would be so unbelievably proud of the young woman you’ve become. Your strength, your heart, your kindness, your resilience… they shine so brightly. You carry pieces of her with you in the most beautiful ways, while still being completely and wonderfully your own person. Watching you grow up has been such a gift, and I cannot wait to see where life takes you next. 🤍

Words. That’s where I struggle. Yet another reason why I don’t post often. It’s so easy to get caught in the “I had such a blast with this client!” caption, or cheating and having ai do the work, and it all just seems soooo sadly superficial because deep down under it all, there’s so much more. So. Much. More.

This bright, beautiful, and incredibly talented soul beat impossible odds to be alive and THRIVED. These stories. Your stories. It’s such an honor to be a part of your journey. Years, and for a few of you decades, of moments forever preserved, created in a way that leaves a piece of my heart in each. I get so stupidly emotional thinking about it I often ask myself, like, is this normal?? 😆

I say this all the time, but it is so much more than simply taking photos for me, I truly do feel like a part of your family and I am forever grateful for your trust in me.

Iona, you are going to change the world. Graduation is just around the corner…not an end, but a new beginning. I so look forward to watching you chase your dreams!✨
