Usually a hub of activity throughout the year, our barn becomes noticeably quieter post-harvest. Time to winterize equipment and grease the zerks.

Every weathered board on a barn tells a story of a season survived and a harvest won.

Usually the hills are bare by now. This year at 2,400 feet, the woods around the vineyard are still full of color with the vine rows gone quiet below. Color this deep in November is rare for us.

One good wind and it’s gone. Come visit this weekend and catch it while it’s still here.

Introducing the 2024 ‘Wayfinder’, our third vintage and quickly becoming one of our favorite white w**es.

Inspired by the great w**es of Puligny-Montrachet, ‘Wayfinder’ is Chardonnay made in the Burgundian style and aged in 50% new French oak. Yellow apple, Meyer lemon, and ripe pear up front, layered with lemon curd and brioche. Toasted hazelnut and vanilla come in as it opens, but the fruit stays centered, finishing long with white peach, lime, and a touch of smoky oak.

Our w**emaker Cora has really taken ownership of this w**e, and she’s steering it exactly where we all want it to go.

Available November 7th in our fall w**e club release.

Additionally, an all-stainless Chardonnay is coming early spring, our first since 2022.

We’d like to shine a spotlight on Lars Bjorkman, w**emaker at Saddleback Cellars and co-founder of Gro Wines in Napa Valley.

Lars has made w**e at Saddleback in Oakville alongside legendary w**emaker Nils Venge since 2006. In 2009, he and his wife Molly founded GRO Wines, a boutique label devoted to single-vineyard w**es.

For the past three years, we’ve been lucky to have Lars as part of the Stone Ashe family. He’s guided us as an advisor, been a part of the blending process, and helped shape our portfolio into what we envision it becoming. Somewhere along the way, he also became a true friend. We make the trip to see him in Napa, and he makes the trip to see us.

Great w**e is never made alone. There’s always value in having more expertise in the room, and we’re always eager to keep learning. Here’s to you, Lars!

A moment of calm in the tank room before the final fruit arrives.

Today, Cabernet Sauvignon comes in, closing out our 2026 harvest. We ran out of runway with the weather as temperatures dropped sharply, bringing the growing season to an close.
