Last week, I had the opportunity to present “The Cost of Being Unprepared: Grant Readiness and Compliance as Your Competitive Advantage” at Elevate Your Impact's Think & Thrive Thursday.

The feedback told me this is a conversation nonprofit leaders NEED to be having:

I just finished watching a grant webinar from a regional funder, and the Q&A reminded me of something I see far too often:

Nonprofits don't always have a funding problem. Sometimes, they have a readiness problem.

One question was about reporting unduplicated numbers. It was a valid question—but it also highlighted something important.

Funders aren't just listening to what you do. They are assessing whether your organization has the infrastructure, systems, and knowledge to accurately track, manage, and report what you do.

Most nonprofit leaders don't jump into this work because they love compliance, data collection, policies, or reporting. We jump in because we want to SERVE.

Passion launches the mission. Infrastructure positions it for investment.
