Spurge is a common summer annual w**d that thrives in hot, dry conditions and often shows up in thin or stressed areas of the lawn. It grows low to the ground in a mat-like pattern, spreading outward from a central taproot and quickly filling bare spots. One of the easiest ways to identify spurge is by its small oval leaves and reddish stems that branch out in all directions. If you break a stem, it will release a milky white sap, a key characteristic that helps distinguish it from other low-growing w**ds.

Grubs are young beetles that live below the surface and feed on grass roots. Left untreated, they can weaken healthy turf and create brown, thinning areas. Lawn Pride® grub control helps protect your lawn before damage takes hold.

The combination of excessive rainfall, humid temperatures, and cooler overnight conditions has led to a big increase in mushrooms showing up in lawns lately. While they won’t harm your grass, they’re a clear sign your lawn is holding a lot of moisture right now. In most cases, mushrooms will dry up and disappear on their own once conditions become less favorable, or you can simply remove them by hand if you’d rather not wait. As a reminder: never eat mushrooms growing in your yard because they could be toxic.

Grubs can destroy a lawn from below the surface before most homeowners even realize there’s a problem. With the warmer winter we experienced this year, we’re expecting an uptick in grub activity because fewer of them died off during the colder months. As they feed on the root system of the lawn, it weakens the grass and can lead to major damage fast. Staying ahead with grub control is one of the best ways to protect your lawn this season.
