There was a secondary flood with sustained high-water for over 8 hours last night. This building at our training partner's facility - https://www.royalbeachnepal.com/adventure-tourism-guiding-and-management on the Trishuli - was damaged during the initial flood a few days ago, but not like this. It was finished off last night along with many of the other buildings. It's hard to describe how much water is in this river right now.

The catastrophic flooding in Nepal is a sobering reminder of how quickly water can devastate entire communities.

For more than two decades, Swiftwater Safety Institute has trained rescue professionals to operate in floods, swiftwater emergencies and other complex environments.

Today, we are proud to introduce the next chapter of that mission: Waterborne Relief

Waterborne Relief is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing together experienced rescuers, emergency managers, boat operators, medical personnel and technical specialists. Its mission is to provide professional flood-response support, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief when communities are overwhelmed.

We have launched a $25,000 founding campaign to build the equipment, logistics and operational readiness required to respond when the call comes.

Waterborne Relief’s responders are volunteers. Donations help support rescue boats, technical equipment, medical supplies, communications, transportation and field operations.
