Last week, we were truly honored to welcome Jordan Mackay to Texas for a morning of w**e and conversation about the exciting evolution of Texas w**e.

We gathered at William Chris Vineyards, alongside the w**emakers from William Chris, Adega Vinho, and Ab Astris. It was a special opportunity to bring together people who are passionate about Texas w**e, share our w**es and perspectives, and celebrate the remarkable progress and potential of our state’s w**e industry.

Jordan, the award-winning author and journalist behind, “The Sommelier’s Atlas of Taste” among other works, has been telling the story of w**e for years, including writing about Texas w**e for Texas Monthly. It was incredibly special to welcome him back to Texas as he works on his new book exploring American w**e. His visit gave us an opportunity to reflect on how far Texas w**e has come and where it is headed.

We were also delighted to be joined by Jessica Dupuy, an accomplished w**e journalist, author, and educator whose work has appeared in publications including Texas Monthly, Forbes, Decanter, and W**e Enthusiast. Jessica is a true advocate for Texas w**e, consistently championing our w**eries, growers, and the people putting Texas on the map as an exciting American w**e region. We appreciate you arranging this visit!

We are proud of the w**es being made in Texas and grateful for opportunities like this to share our story with those helping shape the future of American w**e.

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome students from Texas A&M University and Texas Tech University for the Student Summit hosted by the Texas W**e Auction Foundation!

It was a wonderful opportunity to bring the next generation of Texas w**e industry leaders together, share knowledge, make connections, and give students a closer look at the many opportunities within this growing industry. We look at it as a way to give back to our community.

From the vineyard to the cellar and beyond, the future of Texas w**e depends on investing in bright, passionate young people who are eager to learn, innovate, and make their mark.

We’re grateful to the Texas W**e Auction Foundation for making experiences like this possible and to all the students who brought their curiosity and enthusiasm. We loved having you! And of course Gig’em to our Aggie fans!

Harvest may be over, but the decisions are just getting started. 🍷🍇

In our October blog, Elisa Jones of Elisa Christopher W**es takes us inside the cellar for a look at what happens after the fruit comes in.

From cold stabilizing and preparing sparkling w**es for second fermentation to evaluating barrels, managing equipment and storage, and tasting red w**es as they evolve, post-harvest is all about asking one question: Now what?

And as Elisa shares, the answer is rarely the same from one w**e or one vintage to the next.

This year brought smaller yields but beautiful fruit, and w**emakers across Texas are adapting in real time. Elisa also checks in with her fellow TWG members: Janet at Portree Cellars, Mike at Ab Astris, and Reagan at Sandy Road Vineyards to share how they are approaching a season that required plenty of pivots.

Because in w**emaking, the unexpected does not always mean something went wrong. Sometimes it opens the door to something new.
