Harvest has officially come to a close with the final pick of Aglianico.

It was a great year in the vineyard, with high yields and outstanding fruit quality. We’re excited to see what this vintage brings, not only in the wines we make here at Hye Top, but also in the wines our friends and fellow winemakers make with our grapes.

Now that the harvest rush has settled down, it’s time to start thinking about getting the tasting room back open. We’re looking forward to pouring some wine, sharing some conversation, and catching up with y’all again.

Hope to see you soon!

Harvest can be all hands on deck, even if those hands are small.

This year, we had one of the youngest members of the family out in the vineyard helping pick through some grapes. He carried the bucket, helped with the grapes, and got a little taste of what harvest is all about.

Harvest can be a grind, but he seemed to enjoy it. The celebratory glass of wine will have to wait a few years, though. For now, grape juice will have to do.

Always fun to see where our fruit goes after harvest. 🍇

Here’s Buli Limestone Wines giving our Hye Top Tannat some extra attention with optical sorting before it heads into the cellar.

We can’t wait to see what they make with it!

In Texas, some of the most important work happens long before sunrise.

Crews were busy overnight bringing in a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon crop along with an exceptional Tannat harvest. The vineyard rewarded us with healthy fruit, full bins, and plenty of reasons to be excited about this vintage.

A huge thank you to our harvest crew for their hard work, dedication, and long hours. Harvest is a true team effort, and we couldn’t do it without them.

The harvest may be behind us, but these grapes still have a long journey ahead before they become Hye Top wines. We can’t wait to share them with you when the time is right.

Here’s to the 2026 vintage. We have a feeling it’s going to be one to remember.

Ever seen a vine that can make both red and white wine?

Neither have we.

What you’re seeing here are called Christmas clusters. In years with especially vigorous growth, grapevines can produce a second, much smaller set of clusters after the main crop has developed.

These late-season clusters continue to mature long after harvest and, if they make it that far, typically ripen around Christmas, which is how they got their name.

No, they won’t make white wine, but they are a fascinating reminder of the incredible growing season we’ve had.

Not your average weekend here at Hye Top Vineyards.

Thanks to a great growing season and well timed spring rains, our Roussanne ripened a little earlier than usual, and this weekend we brought in another beautiful harvest.

Now the next chapter begins as these grapes make their way from the vineyard to the winery. We can’t wait to watch this vintage come together and, before long, share another Texas-grown Roussanne with you.

Every bottle starts right here. Here’s to another great harvest.

🍇 Summer Update from Hye Top

Our tasting room is closed for July & August while we focus on harvest — life on a working vineyard revolves around the fruit this time of year, and it needs our full attention.

We reopen Saturday, September 12, back to our regular 2nd & 4th Saturdays — with some exciting news coming for September that we can't wait to share. 👀

And yes — we ship all summer. While many wineries pause in the heat, every order leaves here in an insulated container with ice bricks so your wine arrives in perfect condition. Cold packaging adds roughly $5 to shipping during the hot months only.

Club members: your next allocation arrives in October, after summer rates end — and as always, it ships free.

See you in September, Hye Top family. Until then, we'll be in the vines. 🍷

The vineyard is starting to show one of our favorite signs of the season.

Our grapes are beginning to turn color as we move into veraison, the stage where ripening begins and harvest starts to feel just around the corner.

Thanks to a strong start to the growing season, the vines are looking healthy, and we’re excited to see how the next few weeks unfold. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but every day brings us one step closer to harvest.
