Big news from Hye Top!

Our 2024 Estate Sangiovese has earned a Gold Medal and 93 points at the 2026 San Francisco International W**e Competition.

Among more than 1,100 medal-winning w**es, ours was the only Sangiovese from the Texas Hill Country to earn Gold.

A recognition we’re incredibly proud of, and one that reflects the hard work in our vineyard and cellar.

A little Texas Hill Country gold. 🥇

Meet the Maker | Saturday, October 24

Join us from 11 AM to 5 PM for a fall afternoon at Hye Top Vineyards with our w**emaker, Bénédicte Rhyne!

Taste our new 2024 Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Super Texan while hearing the stories behind the w**es straight from the maker. We’ll also have select older vintages available at special prices.

Bring a friend, pack a picnic, and enjoy the views from the hilltop!

We’re excited to join fellow Texas w**eries in downtown Johnson City on Saturday, October 17, from 12–6 PM. We’ll be there pouring and selling Hye Top w**es, and we’d love to meet you, catch up, and share a glass with you!

Fall has finally found the Hill Country.

We’ll be open this Saturday, October 10, from 11 AM to 5 PM, and it looks like a perfect day to come out to Hye, enjoy a glass of w**e, and take in the view from the top of the hill.

Our newest 2024 w**es are now available to taste, along with several older vintages that are specially priced.

Come sit a while and enjoy the afternoon with us.

Harvest has officially come to a close with the final pick of Aglianico.

It was a great year in the vineyard, with high yields and outstanding fruit quality. We’re excited to see what this vintage brings, not only in the w**es we make here at Hye Top, but also in the w**es our friends and fellow w**emakers make with our grapes.

Now that the harvest rush has settled down, it’s time to start thinking about getting the tasting room back open. We’re looking forward to pouring some w**e, sharing some conversation, and catching up with y’all again.

Harvest can be all hands on deck, even if those hands are small.

This year, we had one of the youngest members of the family out in the vineyard helping pick through some grapes. He carried the bucket, helped with the grapes, and got a little taste of what harvest is all about.

Harvest can be a grind, but he seemed to enjoy it. The celebratory glass of w**e will have to wait a few years, though. For now, grape juice will have to do.

In Texas, some of the most important work happens long before sunrise.

Crews were busy overnight bringing in a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon crop along with an exceptional Tannat harvest. The vineyard rewarded us with healthy fruit, full bins, and plenty of reasons to be excited about this vintage.

A huge thank you to our harvest crew for their hard work, dedication, and long hours. Harvest is a true team effort, and we couldn’t do it without them.

The harvest may be behind us, but these grapes still have a long journey ahead before they become Hye Top w**es. We can’t wait to share them with you when the time is right.

Here’s to the 2026 vintage. We have a feeling it’s going to be one to remember.

Ever seen a vine that can make both red and white w**e?

Neither have we.

What you’re seeing here are called Christmas clusters. In years with especially vigorous growth, grapevines can produce a second, much smaller set of clusters after the main crop has developed.

These late-season clusters continue to mature long after harvest and, if they make it that far, typically ripen around Christmas, which is how they got their name.

No, they won’t make white w**e, but they are a fascinating reminder of the incredible growing season we’ve had.
