Per OSHA 1926.701(b), rebar must be guarded to prevent impalement. A piece of rebar that is protruding with no caps or other measures to prevent an employee from impalement is an easy citation for a compliance officer to write as well as a serious hazard to workers in the area.

OSHA requires that employers ensure that all rigging equipment has permanently affixed and legible identification markings that state the recommended safe working load, and that rigging is not to be used if it does not have these. Rigging needs to be inspected prior to use each shift. Labels or tags that state this information on the rigging may become worn and no longer legible or, during the course of use may become damaged or disconnected form the rigging so an inspection prior to use each shift needs to be done and any rigging not having the legible, affixed tags needs to be removed from service immediately.

While you may have your Safety Data Sheets on site do you have a chemical inventory list? This is simply a list compiled of all of the hazardous chemicals on the site, like an index or table of contents for your safety data sheets. This is not only required by OSHA but it also is helpful to first responders in the event of a fire or other event where they may have to assess what hazardous chemicals are on the site in a quick and expedient fashion.

Employers must make sure that SDS's are readily available to all employees for any hazardous chemicals found in their workplace. While these can be kept on computer or in hard copy, they must be readily accessible to all employees. If employees cannot access the SDS's then this can be cited by OSHA. While electronic is an acceptable form you should have hard copies as well as there could be power outages, bad reception in areas, etc. that could render the electronic forms inaccessible which would be citable by OSHA.
