Real talk for business owners experimenting with AI right now 🙋
It's easy to add a new AI tool because it sounds good in a meeting. It's a lot harder to know if it's actually working.

Here's a simple test we walked through with C12 South Louisiana members this month — three questions to ask about any AI tool or initiative before you commit to it (or keep paying for it):

✅ Did it make things FASTER for your customers?
✅ Did it free up your team to do more meaningful work?
✅ Could it handle double the business without doubling your headcount?

If the answer to most of these is "not really," it might be time to pump the brakes and rethink the approach — not just add another tool to the pile. Simple framework, big impact when you actually use it. 💪

🦬 What an incredible Forum 1 meeting this month!

One of our members opened up and shared the heart behind his business in a compelling presentation — and the room responded with exactly what peer advisory is all about: honest feedback, genuine encouragement, and real investment in each other's journey.

We also loved having guests join us from Forum 2. Iron truly sharpens iron, especially when you get to connect across groups!

This month's curriculum was rich from start to finish! Our devotion from Matthew 5 asked a question worth sitting with: If your life is a sermon, what message are you preaching? Jesus calls us to be the light — not just produce it — and that changes how we approach everything from how we handle pressure to how we treat the people around us.

In our business session, we tackled AI-powered growth and what it means to lead your team through the AI landscape with intention. Rather than letting experiments run in every direction, we challenged each other to identify the real constraints in our customer journey — Awareness, Consideration, or Decision — and apply the 3-S Test (Speed, Strategy, Scale) before committing to any new initiative.

And our ministry time was convicting in the best way. Using the Kingdom Concept Framework, we asked three questions: Where has God placed us? What capacity do we bring? Where is there genuine passion? The intersection of those three is where lasting Kingdom impact gets built.

We're grateful for every leader in the room and for the continued opportunity to grow together — in business, in faith, and in purpose.

I remember Aaron Phillips talking about his desire to start a Men’s Bible Study group at Headkicks Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness Club during our meetings. We talked about whether he should start it or create a culture where one organically started. Aaron keeps working on his goals and it’s just so great to see what has been birthed at his gym.

Y'all, this diagram stopped our group cold this month. 🙌

We spend so much time as business owners just responding — to whoever emails first, whoever shows up at our door, whatever crisis is in the news. And we end up spread thin with not much to show for it.

But what if the place God is calling your business to serve is already sitting right in front of you?

This month we've been working through what we call the "Engagement Sweet Spot" — the place where your proximity to a need, your team's real capacity, and your genuine passion all come together. Right here in South Louisiana, those three things don't have to be hard to find.

The needs in our communities are real. The talent and resources in our businesses are real. And if you're like most of the leaders I know down here, the heart is already there too.
