A Little History of The Fitch House 🏑✨

What you see today at The Fitch House wasn’t always this beautiful.

When we took on this historic Longwood property, it had been vacant for two years and very little had been done since the 1980s.

There was a LOT of work to do.

Painting. Restoration. Chandeliers. Cleaning. Repairing. And uncovering little pieces of the home’s history along the way, including a hand-painted piece connected to someone who once owned the house.

Slowly, this historic home came back to life.

Today, The Fitch House at Founder’s Square is home to a modern coworking community offering coworking space, private office suites, business address services, and event space: all inside a one-of-a-kind historic setting in Longwood, Florida.

We didn't just renovate a building.

We helped give an important piece of Historic Longwood a new chapter. ❀️

And we think the best chapters are still ahead.

Did you know The Fitch House was built around 1888 for one of Longwood's civic leaders?

The Fitch House was constructed for J.C. Fitch, one of Longwood's earliest Town Aldermen. But what exactly was an Alderman in the late 1800s?

An Alderman was responsible for helping govern the growing town. Their duties included:
β€’ Creating local ordinances
β€’ Overseeing roads and infrastructure
β€’ Managing town finances
β€’ Supporting public safety
β€’ Encouraging responsible growth
β€’ Representing the interests of local citizens

As Longwood transformed from a small agricultural community into a thriving town, leaders like J.C. Fitch helped lay the foundation for its future.

Today, The Fitch House proudly continues that legacy by welcoming entrepreneurs, startups, nonprofits, and growing businesses into one of Longwood's most historic buildings.

Every office, meeting, and new business started here becomes part of a story that's been unfolding for well over a century.

Have you ever visited one of Longwood's historic buildings?

Working from home doesn't mean your business has to look like it does.

One of the smartest investments a startup or home-based business can make is establishing a professional business address.

A Business Address Membership at The Fitch House allows you to:

πŸ“¬ Receive business mail and packages
🏒 Use a professional commercial address instead of your home
πŸ”’ Keep your home address private
πŸ’Ό Build credibility with clients and vendors
🌐 Display a professional address on your website, Google Business Profile, business cards, invoices, and marketing materials

Whether you're just opening your doors or growing an established business, projecting a professional image can make a lasting first impression.

At The Fitch House, we're proud to help entrepreneurs, consultants, creatives, remote workers, and small business owners build that credibility while enjoying the character of one of Historic Longwood's most recognizable landmarks.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Celebrating Freedom, History & New Beginnings πŸŽ†

As fireworks lit up the sky this Independence Day, we're reminded that America's greatest stories are built by people willing to dream big.

For more than 137 years, The Fitch House has been part of Longwood's history. Built in 1888, this historic home has watched our community grow from a small railroad town into the thriving city we know today.

Today, entrepreneurs, consultants, nonprofits, remote professionals, and growing businesses continue that tradition inside these walls.

We believe there's something special about building your business in a place that's already stood the test of time.

From all of us at The Fitch House, we hope you and family enjoyed a safe, joyful, and meaningful Fourth of July!
