Last year, the Los Altos Rotary Club, in partnership with the Santa Clara County Library District, brought the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to Los Altos and the surrounding communities. Parents can enroll their children for this free program at local libraries or at https://imaginationlibrary.com/ The program mails more than 3 million books around the world each month to children from birth until 5 years.

Children enrolled in the program are four times more likely to develop advanced reading skills and improved academic performance as they grow older.

Thank you, Dolly, for your love, your joy, your music and for creating the Imagination Library, which helps children grow up with a richer and deeper understanding of the world. Your legacy will help to inspire smarter, happier and more successful children for generations to come.

Rotary, the world's first and largest service organization, started in Chicago in 1905. If there is something cool that the Bay Area does not invent, we quickly adopt it and make it our own. Two of the first five Rotary clubs were established here - and today, there are more than 100!

Amidst the pain and trauma of war, art has offered Ukrainian children a chance to rediscover their agency and begin to heal.
