What a day at the Claude SMB Workshop in Irvine, led by Nicole, founder of Gentiv.ai, in partnership with LaVada English .

My aha moment: learning how to “clone” myself with AI so I can do more of what matters for my clients.

Thanks to Claude by Anthropic for the month of Claude Max. Now I’m planning exactly what I’ll build. Stay tuned.

I’m still processing what I experienced at the TEAM Referral Network The Big Event.

Hall of Fame speaker 𝗗𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 Dan Clark took the stage and asked one question that stopped me cold: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗿?

He told the story of an NFL player who could jump 𝟯𝟴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 but only cleared a 12-inch broomstick. When asked why, his answer was simple: “Because that’s all you asked me to do.”

How many of us are living at 12 inches because no one, including ourselves, asked for more?

Dan reminded us that 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁. Our experiences become stories, and the right story at the right moment can change belief and behavior. As someone who helps small business owners find their voice, that hit home.

And then he told us about James, a young hotel bellman who stayed through the night just to serve a grieving guest. 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. 𝗕𝗲 𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀.

To top it off, I was named a 𝗩𝗜𝗣 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿, walked away with a signed copy of 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, thank you Ethy Val | The Midlife Reset 🌻 and got a big hug from Dan himself. 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗱. 💙

Now I’m asking myself, and every entrepreneur I serve: 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘄, and what story are you telling yourself about it?

This was my first time voting as an American citizen.

By then, I had spent decades living here legally, working, raising my family and contributing. Still, I felt that everything I had built and given could be dismissed as not enough.

Casting that ballot at Dodger Stadium, a place I loved at the time, meant something deeply personal.

My voice had a place in the decisions shaping my home.

Since then, I’ve kept learning. Asking harder questions. Following the dollars. Reconsidering which organizations deserve my support and whether their actions reflect the equality I believe in.

I’m allowed to change my mind when I learn more. So are you.

But “I don’t matter” is a belief we need to challenge. When enough of us stay silent, the loudest voices have more room to define the conversation. The issues affecting our families, businesses and communities deserve to be heard, too.

Voting is one way we bring them forward. Staying informed, asking questions and holding people accountable carries that responsibility beyond Election Day.

Your voice belongs at the table. Even when it shakes. Even when you’re still learning.

What issue matters too much to you to keep sitting this out?

At 11:58 today, I found out I was scheduled to present at TEAM.

Our meeting started at 12:30.

Yep. I dropped the ball. No excuse. I had missed that I was on the schedule.

But here’s what I noticed: I didn’t panic. I pulled my presentation together and spoke about the very thing that made it possible: the work I’ve been doing on myself.

The development. The tools. The time and money invested in learning, practicing, and becoming a stronger leader.

Today, I got to see that investment show up in how I responded.

I could organize my thoughts, trust what I knew, and execute. I had something meaningful to share because I had been doing the work long before those 32 minutes started.

That’s a return on investment we don’t talk about enough.

You start noticing it in the moments that used to overwhelm you. In how you recover from a mistake. In the confidence to say, “Okay. I can handle this,” and get to work.

I’m taking the calendar lesson, too. Believe me.

And today reminded me why I keep investing in myself.
